Why not just post the current sales page

https://deals.dell.com/en-us/category/monitors

and say additional 10% off with email coupon on any of them?

Or is this a FP a day strategy?

SMH.

It's 4k, not 1440p. $300 isn't a lot for a 4k panel.

That being said, I'm not a fan of 4k at 27". 32-34" is the sweet spot as far as PPI goes. Yes, you can zoom on elements, but then you're just wasting the extra real estate that 4k resolution provides. My opinion, though, take it with a grain of salt.
at 4K for monitors extra resolution isn't about extra space anymore really, but pixel density. I have a 28 inch 4K monitor which I love specifically for its high pixel density. It's scaled so that the UI is the size of 1440p. I actually kinda wish there were more affordable 5k monitors at 27ish inches but guess we'll have to wait a bit for that

Different strokes... I feel like the main benefit of 4k is the extra real estate. Zooming to 1440p just feels like a waste at 27". Looks amazing, I'm sure... but 32" 4k gives you the real estate and a great image.

Yes and No. Higher resolution makes the pictures and text smoother which is why Apple switched to Retina displays. Up to a certain point beyond which eyes cannot make out the difference or from a distance where pixel density does not matter as much. So that smoother clearer picture for the same viewing distance is the goal in going up in resolution. The side effect is that everything looks smaller and may become too small unless you get a bigger monitor. Scaling is the next best solution if you can't get (or fit) a bigger screen.

Use of the native resolution gives the best image because the OS no longer has to scale (which is never perfect and undoes some of the benefits of higher pixel density). So, if you can afford the physical real estate, good to get a size that allows you to see clearly in native resolution.

For a normal viewing distance of a desktop, 1080p is fine for 24 and below. 1440p from 25 to 27 and 4k for larger than that would be good trade-offs to keep to native resolution.

for secondary monitor I would prefer higher refresh rate. as you see above mentioned only 40-60hz. I got mine 2wks ago s3221qs max can get 4k@30hz or 2k@60hz. color a bit wash out . perhaps will find another model like s3422dw/dwg or other brand with higher specs

If I use this for a second monitor, using a 1440 or 1080 as primary, will the 4K negatively effect games even though I'd be running them on the other screen?

I think I want the 4K for photos and maybe even 4K video editing but don't want to have poor gaming performance. System is 5900x with 6800xt.
Beast system you have there. 4k as second monitor will be fine. Only way you see a dip in gaming performance is if you are playing high res videos on second monitor while gaming. Even then, it wouldn't effect it much depending on the games you play.

I got the 3221qs aswell. Use the DP port for 60hz.
Works flawless at 4k 60hz.

I don't get the hype, I tried this one a few months ago and was not impressed at all. Lackluster color and brightness sadly.

I know, that's the review that made me buy it. I spent hours with it at home and just was completely unimpressed.

That's why now I have no idea what to buy. Lol

Anyone choosing this over the S2721DGF that was posted a few days ago? I just ordered two of the S2721DGF to upgrade from 1080p 60/75hz and I'm stoked to experience the difference.

If you are getting 2 , then I would prefer 1 of each model.
2k 165hz for gaming and 4k for video and productivity

I've heard 4k is wasted on 27". Is there any credence to that?
