On paper absolutely, but I'd buy with caution. I do resident support for an internet company, had 3 people snag this router and 2 of them the wireless signals won't turn on. Think they're trying to ditch these because of how many issues they're having.

I installed this in my mom's condo a few months ago.

Super easy setup, works great with comcrap

Even something as simple as a power-cycle requires me driving over there, so I needed something bulletproof.

It's not needed any attention from me yet

Recommend.

This is good for a 400 to 800mb connection? My current router is okay but people in the house complain about their speed

I'm not educated with routers, but would this work for a 650 sqft apartment with 200mbps internet speed?

Yes, that's a pretty small area to cover. Almost any modern router would be able to work with that square footage.

According to specs, it's 2400 Mbps for the 5GHz range and 600 for the older 2.4Ghz band. You won't get quite those speeds unless you are on top of the router, but you will almost definitely get more than 200 Mbps.

When placing the router, try to avoid locations where the signal from the router to your usage area (bedroom, office, living room) would go through metal (like a fridge or furnace).

Thanks... I might just skip it, which router would you recommend?

Have this at the center of a 2.1k Sq Ft home and get download speeds of 350-500. And range is generous.

Currently using Nighthawk R7000 for last 4-5 years. Lately have had 5G connection issues so every device is connected through 2.4G. Don't see a need for WiFi6 yet. Is this a good choice?

This is overkill for your apartment.

Yea the router is fine for those speeds. We have gigabit internet and are using this router, but the devices don't have wifi chips that support this speed so the highest we are seeing with speedtest is around 500 mbps. I saw reviews that it reaches up to 800 mbps.

Pretty solid router. Haven't had to restart it in a month since I got it. Picked it up used from amazon warehouse for $60, this is a much better deal obviously. Those that can't get signal from this either don't know how to set it up, or got a defective one.

Setup SSH with certificate based, disable password login. Now you can reboot your router the network admin way, 'from the comfort of your toilet".

If you don't need wifi 6 in the foreseeable future i'd skip this one and just get a good AC router. AC performance on this router is average and the only way you'd get the specified speeds is with a wifi 6 device.

Something like the tp link archer c4000
