They also have the 3-pack of Eero 6 routers available for $226 with Prime Day savings [amazon.com].

Note that this is not the standard 3-pack which includes 1 router and 2 extenders (which have no wired backhaul), but 3 routers which each have two gigabit ethernet ports so you can have wired backhaul.

This is the cheapest price I've seen for these. Normal price is $350, and they're occasionally on sale for $279.

Your comment cannot be blank.

It does indeed have wired backhaul. The extenders are the ones that do not, but if you want additional wired nodes, just add additional routers. I currently have three of these, all on wired backhaul.
I have three of these and, overall, they work great. My main complaint is the subscription service, "Eero Secure." At first I thought it was just for additional security features that I would never use, but once my free trial expired, I learned that it also won't let you view your device bandwidth usage without it, which is really shitty of them. They have a Day, Week, and Month tab of the Activity screen, and you can only access the Week tab without a subscription.
I'm the same way. I have an old Nighthawk R7000 that I'm going to replace soon, likely with Eero. I moved into a bigger house and now priority is larger coverage and consistency, which Eero seems to meet those needs. I am very sure I don't fully utilize the security features/options on my nighthawk now, so I thought the subscription features you pay for on Eero wouldn't be missed. but THIS sounds like a feature I'd want. Wonder what else I'd be missing out on, cause there's no way in hell i'm paying monthly for anything. (if I wanted to pay monthly, i'd just rent equipment from my provider, which also ain't happening)

That is crazy. I know from my past experience that issues like this can be a total dealbreaker. That's why I had to return the Deco M9s I had. They worked great by all accounts and got awesome reviews, but I couldn't use my phone if it was on Wi-Fi calling mode and we had to use data. TP-Link never solved this so I moved on.
just remember, if you have any issues with game spikes or anything, email them, and ask for game mode to be enabled, they can do it, and also turn it off. may take til next day for them to reply/on off, but worth a shot.

I liked the idea of it, it looked sweet, for everything else seemed fine, but it couldn't stabilize the gaming systems, maybe wasn't able to compensate for judders of devices on and offline, or whatever. unsure.

FYI: This can be combined with the 20% trade-in offer (assuming you have an eligible router that you can trade in, and the promotion is activated in time) and some of the other Amazon offers to save $10 or $30 with an eligible credit card!
Where are you seeing the trade in offer? Id like to trade in my base eero

I personally have this and it Rocks! I built my own computer and the motherboard I used had WIFI 6 onboard so it worked out perfectly.

So, I am planning to buy something like this to avoid hard-wiring from one end my house to the other. Would it be better the 3 router version or 1 router plus extenders? We have 3 level house. My WFH office is at one end of the 2nd floor. My current modem set-up (goggle fiber 500 Mbps plan) is on the opposite end on the 2nd floor. With extended WFH for me and my kids taking classes from, I see occasional disconnects (especially office VPN).... I would rather hard-wire, but just don't want to go through with all the drilling, fishing wires etc.... And, TBH, though I am handy, I have not done something like that before. Plus the wife approval factor....
So, something like is worth the investment?
Please help with ideas and suggestions. Thank you!

get the 3 routers only if you plan to hardwire backhaul. If you plan to do wireless backhaul, then get the extenders. Expect speed to be about half compared to a hardwire backhaul.

'Opt-Out' is BS. Kills the deal for me. Comcast does something similar, if you rent their router/modem. There's no way I am giving these creeps any control over my home network.

With all the information out there about Amazon's abuses of Alexa and Ring data I would have to say that the people who trust Amazon with their data have the same IQ as Facebook users.

It's one thing to say you don't care about your privacy, but it's beyond lunacy to believe that Amazon will not abuse your data in the worst possible way.

Thank you! Forgive my ignorance. How would the hardwire backhaul help or provide any advantage over the extenders? I mean the 2nd and 3rd units would be "talking" to the main unit via WiFi correct? So, wouldn't the speed be reduced anyhow?

And, how does this compare with TP-Link Deco:

"couldn't use my phone if it was on Wi-Fi calling mode" .... Is this still true? With this or the TP-Link product? That's not good (for me)....

Is it effective to use wired Ethernet backhaul via powerline adapters? Unfortunately my house isn't wired with Ethernet. I have used powerline adapters in the past and they worked ok (60 Mbps)
At that rate, why even bother using wired?

not true in terms of eero. amazon bought eero, and you can "log in to eero with your amazon account" if you chose, but it's not required. also the CEO of eero stated eero WILL NOT be part of sidewalk, and if it ever eventually comes to eero, it would be OPT IN only, not OPT OUT.

if you just set up your eero like normal, instead of signing in with your amazon account, you never have to worry about it.

Unless they change their mind. Because what are you going to do about it? Seriously, inviting these devices into your home with the Amazon name is just asking for it.
