If you want to avoid a sub, you want to spend more on floorstanding speakers instead of bookshelves.

I have some huge, 40+ pound floorstanding speakers in my main room, they still greatly benefit from a sub, especially for movie content.

If I could do it all over again, I'd buy better bookshelf speakers and two subs. This is what I learned from my garage system as the bookshelf speakers with 5.25 inch woofers generally blend well with a 12 inch sub in-room.

So my suggestion: for the price of the floorstanding speakers anyone is looking at, spend it on bookshelf speakers, speaker stands, and a sub instead.

Had these before and if I didn't go the wireless route, I'd buy a few pairs right now. I chose the infinity 162's because the center channel RC263 had rave reviews. I JUST hooked it up and love it so far as I didn't previously have the space to install it as is in my home because it's a beast

It's not about the horns. Horns have their drawbacks. What makes them sound great is the waveguide design that allows it to project amazing sound. You just won't understand until you've listened to them.

Would the Klipsch 600Ms be comparable to the JBL 530s?

Option 1: x4 JBL Studio 530s + 1 JBL Studio 520c = $610

The 450C and 504C both sound excellent with these. I currently run two 590's, 2 pairs of 530's the RP504C and two monolith 15 subs and it's a great setup.

The Klipsch RP-600M are better than these JBLs. They go on sale for $300/pair every now and then and are a great deal at that price. You can also check the older models which are basically the same. RP-160s, RP-150s, and RP-450C. You can find these used for very cheap a lot of the time and sound is 99% the same.

I would just go ahead and purchase the JBL set (Option 1) first from JBL/Harman. They offer free returns so you can try them out risk free. And if you like them, then you saved a significant amount of money over the Klipsch set (also leaving more money in your budget for a nice sub).

Otherwise, if you didn't like them, then you can move to Option 2.

People will tell you one is better than the other, but there can be no replacement for experience.

They are a heavily EQ'd and insensitive, wideband compression driver horn speaker with a very low crossover point and small woofer that people seem to think sounds good.

I considered doing an multi-amp active crossover/dsp system about ten years ago using large format JBL horns. You call that a waveguide? THIS IS A WAVEGUIDE:

Guys if these Studio 530's aren't adequate for your home theater system I can highly recommend the JBL Cinema 3730's.

I like Harman products but that Klipsch center with four 5.25" drivers is going to sound way better for HT than the JBL 520c with it's two little 4 inchers.
To be fair, it's like 2.5 times the speaker, in size and weight and 3 or 4 times the price.
