I don't know if you're saying synthetic blend requires 3k change, but it's recommended 5k-7500, while conventional is 3k-5k.

Groupon may have a cheaper deal, i went here for my oil change, full synthetic $49, 15 minutes in and out, they didn't try to upsell me any filters either.

Yep, been there done that. First, they said they didn't do last oil change until I showed them the sticker where they did. Then they sent me to a nearby garage who said they send people over all the time with damaged plug. Never again.

$25 OFF???? Hell, it does not cost me $25 TOTAL to do my own oil changes with Mobil 1 and a factory filter..

This is why I put the date and my initials on my filters when I change them. Easy to tell if someone is ever trying to pull the switch on you. In the past, I had to decline the cabin air filter on at least one vehicle that didn't have a cabin air filter. "Oops grabbed the wrong paperwork" was the excuse the guy had for me. I was also surprised how many times the items in the glovebox were exactly in the same place even though you have to empty it in most cars to access the cabin filter.
