You are a network engineer? You should realize then that you can connect to the main node in any web browser and enter your local admin password. You don't have to use the app, and you don't have to use the online account for login.

I can't compare, but I have the Asus and really like it. The reviews seemed a tad better, but this price is awesome.

I got this about a month ago, works fine, no complaints, currently using it with wired backhaul which was the biggest selling point of this.

AX 6600 aka zenwifi XT8 is the golden standard for mesh wifi. both interms of software and performance. Velop is a good back up.

Zenwifi is very hard to come by. Alternatively, you can use 2 - ASUS AX3000 routers in mesh config using their Aimesh. This also performs very well and has 160mhz on 5GHZ band. I use this now and I like it.

I have seen people using blue caves for ai mesh. I didn't know you can use others for the same purpose. Interesting I might check it out. Thanks

I have tried this one from Costco. My home setup needs to have wireless backhaul. I see client devices (oneplus) frequently switching between 2.4g and 5g and gave a sub optimal experience in browsing when I moved around the house, and it stayed in 2.4g even when I am not moving. Back then I was testing this with single router solutions, and I somehow found Orbi RBK50 setup did fixate on the 5g band no matter where I moved. Though no wifi6, and overall lesser max speed, I decided to keep the Orbi and returned the Linksys. Not sure if there was a new FW update that fixes the above.

Seems like these WiFi 6 routers that are now just coming out are outdated already. WiFi 6e is already here and makes a much bigger difference over past gens, especially in heavily populated areas.

Does the local web page let you manage ALL the device settings? I have a TPlink mesh setup and while the wifi coverage is good it does annoy me that the app is the only way to set it up AND what you can set up is so rudimentary, example theres literally no way to disable QOS even when you know its responsible for wrecking your zoom calls.
