Hell, dual-fuel conversion kits are under $150.
ā€‹wheels handle kit, enclosed is bit quieter. Just wanting to unbox it and fire it up on propane but yeah if you have some spare time the open inverter is way to go and convert to all the above.

Good point about the wheels. This one is 100lbs, so it needs wheels. The open frame inverter is only 66lbs.

I can't find a noise level spec on the open frame one... probably not a good sign.

i may be wrong, but i thought i recall a couple of (probably comparisons on other brands champion maybe ) you tube tests with the fully enclosed vs open ones and seemed like they were quieter from what i recall (could be wrong).

but if you're using it for when SHTF noise ain't gonna matter. at that 800 price tough not to get the open frame one...they do have an open frame one (maybe champion) that is duel fuel too.

Yeah, that open frame dual fuel champion inverter is at the top of my list. I'm l looking for something to power the 13.5K air conditioner in my travel trailer, but can spool down when I only need a little power/noise.

I think you're right though, I've read that open frame inverters are almost as loud as non-inverters.

A bit quieter? I had the open frame one and it sounded like a damn jet compared to the enclosed inverter generator. Returned it the same day. laugh out loud

Ran mine last night this morning for elsa. Runs great on propane. Didn't have time for break in was still in the box, but ran it under light load. put some lucas in the spark plug fired it up, did couple oil changes after an hour. Ran my deep freeze and garage fridge, coffee maker, and charged a laptop, low amp stuff, blips when compressors start but that's about it.

It's pretty quiet, really idle quiet if you run anything under 2400 watt as it can be in eco mode, can't really gauge it but i have tinnitus and wear hearing protection for everything tool orientated , i didn't bother with this, i put a bit more load on it to test to 50%, it'll get louder when you ramp it up but reasonable for a generator. I wouldn't want anyone running it next to me at a campsite but it's not as loud as most generators that's for sure.

PS the peak claims are getting a little out of hand. Why not throw in 2 more capacitors on the unit and claim 5000 watts(and then in the small print have 3200 watts). Moral of the story be looking at running watts.
