Have one. It works well but is a pain to clean (can't get the base of the pitcher wet). If you don't plan on using the soup function (i don't) I'd consider getting another blender that is easier to clean.

Was just about to jump on it when I saw your post. That'd be a deal killer for me if you can't get the base wet and it's not removable.

To be clear, look at the third picture. You can remove the pitcher from the stand/motor. It's just that you can't get the bottom of the pitcher wet (I assume you run the risk of getting the heating element wet and destroying it).

Because of that we tend to gravitate towards our inferior (but easier to clean) blender for most tasks.

I've got the standard Ace. It performs well, but as other have mentioned it is a bit of a pain to clean. I use it daily for smoothies—after about 8 months the seal on the pitcher failed and started to leak. I'm now on the free replacement they sent me. Customer service was friendly and easy to deal with. If it lasts as long I'll feel I got my money's worth (though paying into our disposable culture).

Don't buy.

I just emailed Instant Pot customer service about the Ace Plus asking if the leak issue (see reviews; it's bad and causes the unit to short) has been fixed in the model that is on sale at Macy's right now. This was their response:

"Thank you for contacting us at Instant Brands.

At this time the Ace Plus has been discontinued and replacement warranty parts are no longer available for it. Due to this I would advise looking at another model.

"
I followed up and asked what model they recommend and if they have the same leak issue. Will update if they respond.

Haha..🤣
That means they are saying. Good luck with it if you own it. The leak, it's still there and they are not going to fix it.

Had the Ace Plus for a few months, mainly used for soy milk and smoothies no more than 10 times. Bottom plastic melted. Returned. Got the older Ace Nova and so far no issues. Suspect the plastic material didn't keep up with the higher speed motor/heat in Ace Plus.

Here's the follow up response I just received from them:

"In regards to the model I would pick out of the other two units available, I would go with the standard ace blender.

For the sole reason we have replacement parts available for warranty whereas for the nova the options are far more limited.

https://www.instantbrands.com/pro...ce/blender

And in regards to any potential issue with a unit, leak or otherwise, we stand behind all of our products by our 1-year manufacturer warranty, where instant brands warrants your appliance to be free from defects in workmanship and materials.

We hope this helps."

So what do they do if it breaks under warranty? Issue a refund? Send a replacement 'equivalent' model? This seems like an odd statement for a company to make about a blender that is still being sold in stores...

I don't know, but I'd guess that they will honor those warranties best they can, which might mean you get a replacement, a refund, or a "sorry, we can't do anything". It's also probably why their sales page for the Ace Plus gives a 404 error on their site. They are doing triage, and prioritizing the units they've already sold to retailers.

My guess is they won't tell too many people "sorry". That could lead to a more expensive class action suit. But, hey, class actions suits happen all the time, so maybe they will.

Your decision if you wanna roll the dice, but I'm not going for it.

I picked this up last year for $90 and it's been awesome. Great blender. Really powerful -- makes great smoothies, soups, and baby food. Replaced a Ninja blender that never could quite get things smooth enough. Been really pleased with this and would totally recommend.

EDIT: This is the first I'm hearing about a leak issue... we use ours 4 or 5 times a week and haven't had any issues. YMMV I suppose.

Reviews are kind of mixed for quality and reliability. Seems like only Vitamix can make a serious quality blender. Kind of sad that nobody else can seem to make a simple motorized device that is durable.

The "Will it blend" guys at Blendtech do a good job, in my experience. Having said that, once Instant Pot comes out with a blender that doesn't break, I'm in. My Blendtech doesn't make soup and it doesn't get as smooth as the Instant Pot seems to.
