If you're wondering about Midway, don't. It's a terribly boring movie with very little story or character development. Tons of heroes involved, but none of them feel heroic. Pass on this telling of Midway.

Really couldn't disagree more. I found it to be a great movie. It's a Hollywood retelling of events with some pacing issues, but to say it's terribly boring is hyperbole.

I feel like people already know what they are getting with Midway. It's a spectacle, nothing more.

Really couldn't disagree more. I found it to be a great movie. It's a Hollywood retelling of events with some pacing issues, but to say it's terribly boring is hyperbole.

I fell asleep halfway through, and when I woke up an hour later, the movie was still only midway.

That's hyperbole.

But even if you get the free upgrade from HD to 4K, the 4K versions of some movies still do not have HDR/DV. So you're just getting cleaner pixels that are more noticeable on bigger displays. Which is fine, as long as you know that's what/all you're getting. People with 150" projector screens will for sure appreciate it. Maybe even 85" TVs if you sit close enough.

I actually thought Midway was a decent flick. I streamed it on HBOmax and didn't have to pay for it specifically. It's also on Hulu premium of anyone has one of those and wants to see for themselves.

I watched the preview of it. Characters aside, most of the battle scenes look TOTALLY fake and are done in cheap CGI. For a moment I wondered if I was looking at a video game preview.

Well you do realize you're talking about digital/streaming 4K, HDR or "Atmos", which makes all that benefit not that much of a benefit!
This is especially true with object based soundtracks, very inferior!
