Is this TV affected by the 120hz 4K blurry issue that Sony was having?

Panel manufacturers are always increasing the substrate panel size. So larger panels become cheaper to mass produce. 75" panels are beginning have the most screen area per dollar. The 75" X90CH only cost 30% more than the 65" X90CH and provides about 30% more screen area. In the future, expect an 85" TV to only cost 28% more than a 75" TV that has 28% more screen area.
That's common knowledge, even for this forum. Most electronics get better and cheaper over time. Comparing TVs based on significant size differences doesn't work well for all people, because the size is one of, if not the most important aspect of a TV. 85" is a very significant difference from a 75" for most who compare them. Hence, a good deal should be compared to alternatives in the same size range. What do other TVs near or around 85" in this level of quality cost, and what else can I get that's slightly smaller but much better for the same price? Many will pick a 77" OLED over decent 85" LCDs if the price is right simply because they are so superior in most situations, e.g. a 77" CX could be had for $2600 recently - way better option than the X90CH, though the 8" difference may be too big for some. So quit being a weenie and understand other people see things differently than you.

Not available for delivery in my zip code, but is available in store.

Is it safe to transport the TV with the box laid flat on top of a crossover?

This is the best way to make sure you come home to a broken screen, outside of just smashing it yourself.

In fact, Best Buy won't even cover a broken screen if you transport it like this. Why, because there's not support for the screen itself, so laying it flat means every oscillation and bump in the road is transferred to this long, unsuspended panel that will in turn flex up and down.

Hence, you should only ever Transport it with the TV up and down.

I returned a 75 for a 85 , and man worth every penny!!! Just gonna eat rice and beans the rest of the month šŸ˜‚

Same here. 75" tv screen was damaged and I decided to order 85". Price wise it is not a great deal but definitely worth the price.

Yes, it should be fine, as long as you do it in the box and drive slow. The mistake people make is trying to lay them flat outside of the box and letting them flex all over the place. If you ever must transport it without a box, you can stuff a bunch of towels under it so it doesn't flex too much. Especially important at the corners.

Rent a uhaul and costco will load it. I rented a cargo van yesterday

100" is a significant difference from an 85" too. As you said a "good deal should be compared to alternatives in the same size range" and since you cannot find a TV with better quality at this size and price you must think it is a good deal to pay $20,000 for the 100" Sony X90J. So quit being concerned about the size of your weenie and understand it is not the size that matters but the overall bang for your buck; which, happens to be the $1,300 75" X90CH

Bang for your buck has limited value with TVs. A 48" OLED for $100 isn't a better deal than a $2600 77" OLED for someone building a home theater where size does matter. That's kind of my point. A TON of people want as big of a screen as possible. 65" doesn't cut it for a lot of people these days.

Sold out at my local Costco but had the floor model on sale for $1500.00. Loving the tv so far but a little nervous due to unknown use hours/reliability. Fingers crossedā€¦

You could get a rough idea based on when Costco first started selling this set last year. Not sure if they turn them off at night but I would think so. Open to close 7 days a week for about a year maybe. I think this set comes with a 3 year warranty? Costco CC gives 2 extra years.

Definitely 85 is a huge tv and worth it. I had a 70 and started looking at 75.

Once I saw the 80+, there is no going back

This is a great deal if you have room n budget

Enjoy
Replaced our 92" Mits with a 85". The 92" is only 1080p and it was time to go 4k. Tbh I didn't notice as big a difference going smaller than I thought.

There is a way to see the usage hours using self-diagnosis mode, just FYI. I found the instructions in a Reddit thread (combination of remote buttons) but that might be in the manual somewhere...just in case you are not yet aware of it. I am also new to this tv, maybe somebody here know a more straight forward way from the settings menu. Congrats on getting one. I love mine...although I have the 65 in version.
