1. Please note that despite what the picture shows, this one has celeron (not m3) processor, which is confirmed in the full spec sheet.
2. Note that EOL is 6/2024. After which, it's usable but won't get any more OS update.

This (64gb version) has been my daily driver for 1 year. Here's my thoughts compared against other <12" Chromebooks.

3. It has 1920x1200 display. OTOH, most <12" CBs have 1366x768 resolution.
4. Compared to other <12" CBs, this is heavier. Close to 3 lbs and screen heavy. If you use it on your lap, it can fall backwards at certain angles.
5. In terms of hardware, s-pen is better than other stylus. However, the stylus support in chrome OS is limited. Google just killed Keep chrome app version (note taking app), which was preinstalled in this machine. Other 3rd party note taking apps all have limitations.
6. Hinge design flaw. When hinge breaks, it will crack the screen.

Final verdict. $180 is a fair price for this device, which has 3 years of support left.

EOL = End of Life? Interesting... I had no idea that Chromebooks expired. We have two at home, one old and one a little newer. How do I check their EOL?

Go to About ChromeOS, where you would check for an update. It well tell you as you approach the end of support and when you've passed it.

EOL means stoppage of support. That's 3 years from how. Add another 2 years at least of operations without issues. This thing will most likely physically break before the end of 5 years

I agree with the last statement. I'm on my 4th Chromebook now since 2010. Each physically broke before EOL, as I used/abused them as my daily driver.

If I didn't have this machine, I'd get it now for $180 and use it for the next 3-4 years until it breaks.

Essentially, if you plan on using this as in a more dedicated configuration instead of constantly using the hinges; you should be fine.

Just a note for people worried about these going EOL. I have several EOL chromebooks that I continued to use way past their EOL date.
If you're savvy, you can run a full Linux OS ontop of ChromeOS with Crouton and continue to use the machine for years down the line without making any physical changes to it.
You can also flash the bios on many chromebooks to turn them into normal full blown UEFI booting laptops that run windows, pretty much any flavor of linux, and sometimes even MacOS.

I have one for couple years now. With 4gb RAM, SURFING with this celeron processor is still a struggle. You will see lag. The good thing for this chromebook is the touch screen. You can play android game kind of smoothly on this. The screen is really nice

Lotsa review with broken hinges. Looks like a manufacturing or design deficientcy.

That price was for the Light Titan color, while $180 was the price for this Arctic Silver. (And honestly this shouldn't really be a new FP deal.) See the thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/15076648-samsung-discount-programs-12-2-chromebook-plus-v2-1920x1200-32gb-emmc-152-free-shipping?v=1

Apparently there are some internal differences (metal vs. plastic) between the two models that may make this model more desirable (IMO it doesn't really, but you can see the links in the thread and make your own decision).

"The point" of a Chromebook is to not rely on your hard drive..
