Having had both, prefer the mini. I did not notice a huge difference in sound quality, and the mini takes up a lot less room.

That being said, if you already have the full size HomePod, you would want to stay with it so they can work in stereo. You can only do stereo in two Homepods, or two HomePod Minis, not in one of each.

I'm about to put a tv over my fireplace with a mantlemount pull down mount. We use an Apple TV for everything. Would these be decent wireless speakers for the left and right of the tv?

Edit for casual living room viewing. We have have a beefy OLED theater ish setup elsewhere
