It includes a Chromecast Ultra which is worth at least $60 in my opinion

The controller itself and google stadia are kind of a neat concept but I don't use it often

I'm pretty sure you had to buy Cyberpunk for $60 to get the free Stadia controller and Chromecast Ultra. Not sure about the Youtube Premium offer.

Question on the controller:

Can the Stadia controller be used for other things like navigating menus in Netflix or with another Android device for non Stadia gaming or web browsing etc?

Why would the chromecast ultra be worth more than the latest Chromecast which also supports 4k?

All they did was stop making exclusive games for it, which is and was always an incredibly expensive ambitious thing to do. Everyone who responded to the news of Google giving up on the idea and assumed therefore Stadia as a whole must soon also be about to become abandonware just doesn't understand the gaming industry.

Cloud gaming is the future of the market and Google would be idiots to abandon Stadia which actually works better than its competitors. There's a reason everyone, Sony, MS, Nvidia, even Amazon, are in on cloud gaming.

Doubt it will be free again. Seems like it isn't looking good for Google Stadia, since they just cut the price in half.
They were literally just giving this away free last month with pre-order of the new Resident Evil. Completely free though, you are probably right, even though that wasn't even completely free as you needed to be a YT Premium subscriber.

One of the commenters at best buy said "Plus with pro you get a selection of over 26 games. And are absolutely free" So what's "pro" & are there any free games? I already have all the other consoles & am wondering if I should get this considering the price point.
It is a bit of weird system that oddly they don't explain particularly well anywhere when I first looked into it last year. Basically Pro is a monthly subscription that gets you a few things, including a bunch of free games, ranging from crap to pretty decent high profile games, that you can "claim" and are then added to your "library" permanently. A handful of new games are added that you can "claim" every month and a few are taken out but if you already claimed them that doesn't matter to you really. However if you stop paying for the Pro subscription you lose access to this collection of free games. Start paying again and you get access to them all again plus get to add whatever new free games they've added to the Pro section since you've last subscribed. Here is this month's list of free Pro games, there's some pretty decent stuff in there;

https://stadia.google.com/store/list/2001

The Pro subscription also gives you 4K and surround sound. You are limited to 1080p and stereo otherwise, whether on the free Pro games or games you bought. You also don't need Pro to play games you purchase, those can be played at anytime, also shared with anyone in your "Google Family Group" or whatever they call it, as can the Pro games if you are subscribed.

I got this bundle free with pre-order of Cyberpunk 2077 last year for $50 as I had a $10 off code. Right now I'm in the middle of 5 free months of free Pro on a new account through a 3 month giveaway from Lenovo I saw on here last month, plus the month free trail you can double with a referral. Currently, thinking about buying Disco Elysium - Final Cut, which they have on sale for $28 right now, as it is supposed to be amazing.

The newer Chromecast is likely better in general with the remote and Google TV but the key difference vs the Ultra when it comes to Stadia is the Ultra has the ethernet port which is what I've been using it through and it works beautifully on that. I can't really comment on how well 4K and response times are going to do on wifi but I'd imagine it varies widely depending on the specifics of your connection and equipment.

I got in on the free set for being a YT Premium subscriber. I had a hard time selling it for $50. I did eventually.

Geez this sucker is half price already in under a year. Yikes.
they don't make money on the hardware. they'll make it on the monthly $10 fee. I have Stadia (got it for free with cyberpunk purchase) and love it. 4k gaming without the need for a console is actually pretty great.

Not a bad deal you are likely to see a far cry 6 pre-order bundle as well. I would wait for that.

I own 3 stadia with CCU and I have bought 2 from pre-orders (cyberpunk, resident evil village)

The FPS selection sucks since only PUBG is the only real shooter but with Ubisoft+ you get Division 2.

Ghost Recon is OK but I think console gaming is the way to go since most major release studios are already well established and paid for.

Assassins Creed is available but I hate that game.

Blizzard Studios released an alpha Baldurs Gate however I don't see any real games worth wasting your time into other than Division 2

Far Cry 5 and New Dawn are available but both aren't big online multiplayer kind of games.

Stadia will probably never be my main way to play games, but I've actually enjoyed the convenience of it for playing a few games on my laptop. I mostly play Destiny 2 on it (which is free to play on Stadia). The experience has been surprisingly consistent across all my devices (iPad, Android phone, Chromecast Ultra, and my laptop). I can't imagine investing a huge amount of money into this, but as a secondary way to play a few games, especially those with cross progression (like Destiny 2), I've found it to be a really convenient, albeit extremely niche, option.

Can this controller be used as just a regular Bluetooth controller on other devices?

From my understanding, the internals are very similar. If you need a wired network connection, this deal would be the way to go, since the Ultra includes a power adapter with an Ethernet port, and the Google TV version doesn't (sold separately for $20).
You're right about the Ethernet. There is a way to get it for Chromecast with TV, but then you will be out another ten bucks or more for the USB C hub that delivers power with an Ethernet connection enabling storage, etc. I'm my opinion I like the chromecast with tv because I also need a functional remote for kids and I have controllers that will already pair with stadia. Stadia is rolling out soon to the chromecast with TV. Plug and play though... This is the current best way to go. Thanks for clarifying the Ethernet part for people who really want a good connection

In for another one.

I love mine. I reach for it more than my Xbox one or PS4. Not having to worry about storage space is awesome. And gaming in 4K is great, just make sure you have the internet capability. I went over my data cap one month. I have only paid real money for pro one month in the last year. I just take the google surveys enough to pay the $10 every month.

Also if you like me don't have a high end PC and want to play Baldur's Gate 3 you can on stadia.
