If you need anti virus software that is not the standard Windows Defender, then this is a great buy.

I do tech work everyday and anything with Norton on it that comes in is normally dirty. Just cleaned a machine a few days ago it had the newest Norton on it and I found malware and a few viruses on the machine. I use eset to scan and clean then I run offline defender to find any other hidden stuff. Just passing along some good info...

Is this the Norton that actually mines crypto while it's on?

Thank you very much for the tip.

In your opinion, what are the top 3 or so anti-malware programs?

I am currently using Webroot (which has worked well for me), and it is about to expire and am wondering whether or not to renew or try something else.

My Internet provider (CenturyLink) offers McAfee for free.

Unrelated...but does your everyday work lead you to a preferred security solution? (Particularly for a Mac)

You must be the naïve person who is taking advice from an ESET fan lover/sales pusher.

Hmm, you deal with Mac right. So, your "do tech work everyday" led you a preferred anti-virus solution?

Here's my advice based on 20+ years of experience:

1) The #1 anti-malware program, hands down, is Malwarebytes.

2) Malwarebytes works great in combination with Norton (sometimes two programs conflict with each other; these two don't)

3) If you have the combination of 1) and 2) you have solid protection.

4) The price is this deal is great - $25 for 10 devices. It will never be lower.

5) Windows comes with free Windows Defender which is highly rated. As an alternative to Norton + Malwarebytes, you can use Windows Defender + Malwarebytes.

6) If you want to test Norton Security for free for a year and have 3 or less devices, use this link:

https://us.norton.com/store?expid...code=RAZER

7) On activation, although Norton sets you up for auto renewal after 1 year, you can, online itself within your Norton account, after 10 minutes, permanently turn off "auto renewal". Never renew through Norton. Always buy Norton licenses when on sale and then chat with a Norton rep to "stack" the new license on the one that is expiring.

Alternatively, if you right now want 3 continuous years of Norton, buy 3 licenses. Activate the first one, and then chat with a Norton rep. to stack the remaining two years for a total of 3 years. Only Norton chat or phone reps. can do stacking.

8) The last time this $25 deal for 10 devices was offered on Norton on Newegg, it sold out.

How may devices are you seeking to protect? If less than 3 see Point #6 above.
