There is some excellent discussion about the weights there - additionally, this would have been a nice deal pre-covid for new coated weights delivered to your door.

I decided to hold out for a sale on metal plates now that gyms are opening. Dicks set is $270 with an email coupon, so I may wait for a sale and stack em...
Btw, use the $50 off $500 coupon to sweeten the deal. You may have to add a filler to hit $500.
You do need a filler to use the coupon. I spent half an hour on my phone trying to find something. Their website is so slow... And why can't it remember to sort by Price - Low to High instead of defaulting to High to Low? Ugh. Anyways, the cheapest things I could find were a pack of erasers ~$6 or salt ($2, but has a $3 delivery fee unless you have $75 worth of 2 day shipping items in cart).
I personally don't have a use for the erasers that go on to the top of pencils and I didn't want to feel ripped off when I can pickup a giant container of salt myself without the delivery fee. I ended up just getting those Adidas pants that are on clearance for ~$8. If they don't fit I can return, though I think they may take a proportional value of the $50 off coupon? Luckily there's no instant savings discount applied to either of my items so if I have to make a return, their system doesn't screw me over like it did two years ago where they counted the instant savings against the coupon as well.

Is the Costco CC generally a good card?
I have been looking for weights and this came at a perfect time, although I'd prefer a card with a good sign-on bonus. The cashback categories on this card looks pretty good though. Also, can I apply for the card now and purchase this now for $350? Or would I need to wait to get approved and receive the card to buy this set? TIA.
Bumper plates are built to withstand drops. Bumpers are more expensive.

Good thing I do all my work, including curls, at 225+!
