I find them almost identical in price, but Southwest:

-Doesn't make me hate flying
-Is generally on time
-Plays few games with fares
-Lets me check 2 bags so I'm not carrying on a ton
-Is quick to offer refunds and credits for mistakes or inconvenience

Maybe it's because of where I live, but I've never seen a Southwest flight that is a better deal than what you can find with American/United/Delta.

MCI-CUN is over 500 one way, unless you really want those 50x points badly…

^^^ that was a new route, not intro fare which is why there isn't a fare when it was listed.

I am just frustrated that they dont fly PDX to SAN direct anymore. Before covid there were 3-4 direct per day.

I always find Southwest to be very expensive out of Providence or Boston. I used to take them all the time years ago and they were cheap but they have become the most expensive airline.

wow! $99 one way from fort lauderdale to cancun. was actually looking to book. i have a bunch of gift cards left over. wonder if its beneficial to book now. not sure if i need to change dates.

To this day, I've never had a worse experience with an airlines than Southwest. I have hundreds in credits that may never get used

Not missing much.... typically, the super cheap fares include plenty of obese people crammed into small seating spaces with a good chance your neighbor(s) missed bathing for a week or month. The mandatory masks do not help much with their intention, but they do help with the locker room or worse smell of planes in transit and making a stop.
