Wasn't there a netflix documentary about over 50% of honey is fake honey from China being blended into our food supply, and that many of the food manufacturers don't know its fake?
Recently discovered that manufactures only need to include 51% honey to call it honey. They can and often do add fillers like corn syrup.

Not to mention it's often sourced from China, heavily processed/pasteurized which removes beneficial enzymes.

Best to get honey from a local source/farmer if you want the health benefits from honey.
5 Lbs is about 480 teaspoons.

Two cups of tea a day. would be 3/4 of a year.

Add two teaspoons per cup and you're looking at 1/3 of a year.

Two or three person household.

Honey in cooking.

I mean, You could just slather it on yourself too.

Not disputing what you've said, but what are you doing with 5lbs. honey before it starts to crystallize? Kinda suspect.
Brewing some delicious mead.

Interesting that people are using a honey deal as an opportunity to debate the dark underbelly of SD...

Watch the documentary; they answer this question.

They are getting sophisticated where Chinese fake honey can mimic the chemical compound tested for real honey.

Its a constant cat and mouse game, and the profit margins are so huge selling mislabeled sources/fake honey.
Remember when some Chinese companies were putting melamine in the milk? A lot of kids died or got kidney failure.

When you use it to bake bread, make BBQ sauce, etc. you go through it quick. Our costco has raw, local honey. At least that is what the label says, they tend to have quality products.
Don't forget about mead. I've purchased this before and it's good honey and a lot of it for cheap. But the cap will wear out super quickly so be prepared to store it in a mason jar or use plastic wrap under the cap if your needing a solid seal.

Its some exclusive honey thats from new zeleand and it has to be graded to be authenticated before sold, lol its got natural anti bacterial properties , great with respitory infections and sore throats and boost immune system. Supposedly helps reduce inflammation and help with digestion and such.

Its delicious too , distinctive taste . Look into it! I reccomend Wedderspoon brand!

Amazon sources fairly good suppliers under their Happy Belly brand. They use Kemps/HP Hood for their dairy products (tracked via the plant code on the package) and I'd wager it'd be fairly transparent to find out their supplier for Honey as well.

The best honey is LOCAL, raw, unfiltered honey.

I can't agree that anymore. I mean I don't get the part where people buy cheap stuff and complain. The same thing happens with olive oil, the real olive oil is so much expensive that most of people won't buy, and Most of "fake" ones are manufactured in Italy.
I cannot wrap my head around the games with Olive Oil labeling. You are a better man than e if you can decipher it all. Enabled by the FDA, and performed by multiple governments and agribusinesses.

BTW I grow small fruit plants. Just for fun I tried searching "Olive cultivars". I don't understand why it seems that mostly apples, persimmons, and a few specialty citrus are labeled as to cultivar, yet look at the taste differences. And olives go back to before Rome...

Go to a local farmers market and buy some from your area. It's good for combatting allergies and it supports local beekeepers

My wife takes a 24 oz travel mug with tea and honey to work every day. I bought a jug of this brand back in March, and after a few days she asked me if I'd changed our brand of honey. She went on to explain that this honey simply wasn't as sweet/flavorful as the brand we had been using, and asked that I increase the amount of honey in her tea by at least 50%.

So it's like we were getting only 55oz of honey instead of 80oz, since I have to add so much more.

EDIT: IIRC Restaurant Depot has an 80oz jug for $10-12. I plan to try that brand soon.....
