I used to work at a convenience store and let me tell you something, with so much going on in that work environment the slurpee and frozen coffee machines are the least things that employees remember to clean and rinse out. enjoy mold at your own risk

Bullsh!t. I don't think you've worked there. If you did, you'd know that the frozen/iced coffee comes in an air sealed pouch and has its own new spout for every bag.

actually I have and I can tell you that the powdered stuff used to make the frozen fraps rarely gets cleaned out and replaced with fresh product unless it gets incredibly low. the icees can develop mold as well due to poor upkeep but not to the extent of the milk based drinks. Everyone hated doing the slurpee and cold coffee machine at the store I worked at. Technically the overnight people were supposed to do it since they had more time, but never did. During daytime shifts we had to deal with deliveries, angry customers, people not knowing what pump they parked at and some downright driving off with the fuel pump still in their gas tanks. So naturally most of the workers didn't care. This other worker and I tried to do whenever we had the chance, but there is only so much 2 people can do. The last time I cleaned out the frozen coffee machine it had about half a cup of mold just freely floating in there after not being cleaned for 8 weeks. And customers kept consuming it 🤮 oh and I also found mold on the reservoirs holding the bagged coffee creamer dispensers.

I don't think every convenience store has identical machines. Maybe the machines within certain chains, but this could be a mom and pop.

He also didn't specify how long ago this was.

FYI: If you're already a rewards member, nothing to see here/perform any action.

From the USAToday article:
7-Eleven will drop coupons for free small Slurpee drinks into the accounts of new and existing 7Rewards loyalty members on July 1. New members, who join in July at 7-eleven.com/7rewards or through the app, will also receive the mobile coupon that expires July 31.

You just need to wait until July to look into your account.
