A quick search shows:

If the product doesn't have a "best used by" date, use this rule of thumb:

Unopened liquid laundry detergent: The product is at its best for nine months to one year after purchase date.

Opened liquid laundry detergent: Use the product within six months for best results.

Powdered laundry detergents do not expire or lose effectiveness unless they have been exposed to moisture.

I have stock pile of laundry detergents that's 2-3+ years old, they seem to work just fine.

Fabric softener is another story, they tend to thicken up after a short period of time or drastic temperature change.

Create extra accounts and you can buy multiples. The site lets you designate a different pickup person.

Have you tested the old detergents with harder to remove stains to see if it's just as effective?

Be careful 'stocking up'. Detergents do have a self life.
Did not know that. I thought they lasted at least 1-2 year but 9 months according to another poster down seem very short. I got a bunch stock piled most at least 6 months ago lol.

I guess ill stop buying.

Snagged one since i had $2 in walgreens points but last one!

Totally understandable. Most people are not aware of this. While the detergent still works, it's effectiveness starts to taper off. Just figured I would mention it for everyone's benefit and awareness.

It's a marketing scheme just like SOME, Not all... pharmaceutical medications to get you to buy more.but detergent I could careless. and SOFTNER on the other hand I agree it gets thick and nasty.

I'm currently going through a bottle of Tide from 3+ years ago, it seems pretty effective in terms of cleanness; although clothes in the household don't get much stains.

For those other brands from my stock pile, I'd use extra amount of detergent because they are sub par from Tide or Persil to begin with. ie, Xtra, Arm & Hammer, Purex, etc. And that seems to do the job.

Also the code 'Summer20' doesn't apply anymore

My digital wouldn't come off today. Their cashier wasn't the most cooperative. He claimed there was none, okay. No internet instore to check on my phone. When I got home, I was able to verify I still have it. My store gets worse and worse.
