I don't know why you are downvoted. Is this the deal we have been waiting for months?

My advice is to never worry about or even comment on the downvotes. People are people. A solid deal will quickly overcome the occasional downvote. And this is a super solid deal.

Seeing a lot of speakers on sale. Trying to put together a new media center with a 77 inch OLED as the center piece. How do I go about doing research on speakers? It feels overwhelming.
there are a few issues with shopping media components on here.

1. first way too many advertisements on here that are posted by SD editors and not everyday members. this creates way too much bias since SD pushes these fake deals over real deals that members post .
2. this site is full of fan boys that know very little in real world usage. so advice here should be taken with a grain of salt.
3. this site focuses on bargains / prices and not quality of items. go over to the dedicated AV forums for better, more objective information.
4. making recommendations has to be based on your preferences. without that you have to go on sheer product performance. meaning the more accurate product is the better the product.
5. one of the biggest mistakes people make is not considering the rest of their scenario. other equipment, room acoustics (Most common fault), source material, listening preferences, equipment placement, etc. it is very easy to make good equipment sound poorly.
6. and don't buy a bundle. there is never anything great about this because it makes you buy equipment that is not optimal for your space or budget.

feel free to message me as i work doing home theater installations. what may be the best answer for you is likely not the right answer for the next person. you have to take a lot of factors into consideration if you want the best and most affordable good results. i am not a salesperson and do not charge for this. i do it solely to help other members who have difficulty in this area by utilizing my many years of knowledge and experience in this area. .

Did you have any space issues? I'd like to get the RC263 but I'd have to replace my entertainment center...
The RC263 is huge. I installed a shelf on the wall above the TV, Previously my center was mounted directly on the top of the TV.

I have infinity Primus P362, wondering if it will be worth the upgrade to this.
Having compared the P152 to the R152 bookshelf speakers, I can say the Reference are noticeably better...whether it's worth the upgrade to you I can't answer. I gave away the Primus bookshelves but I still use a set of Primus P250 as my fronts in the living room, but I don't do much critical music listening there, more casual, podcasts, home theater use for which they're fine.

great speakers , i had the model below this but returned them because i wanted the 263s

have the full infinity setup with best rears and center with 2 subs.

I ened up going with JBLs sudios 580s for the front since they have more umph for music in the front. actually paid about 240 ea on sale and they retail higher than the R263s.

The 263s though are great for movies as you will hear more detailed sounds i.e bullets , etc.

Ty! I have some old Polk Lsi speakers from 2002 that are badass but 4ohm and need a new receiver to power them.. I can never find an affordable one that can power... so I started looking at other speakers

Most people try to get the RC263 but can be hard to find on sale.

Having listened to both (Lsi and these) keep in mind they do not sound anything alike.
Some may say you are downgrading by going to these.

If you "need a new receiver" for just the extra "power", have you considered looking for a used external amp?
You would only need a 2-3 channel, depending on whether it's for music or HT(center).

You could also consider a higher end older receiver, if your current receiver has preouts.

Just food for thought.

just make sure you got a very good amp you will hear a difference. I spend at least a grand on a denon but ususally X3400 is a good amp

I'd like to mention that I was hesitant about purchasing these towers because I want to pair them with the much-praised RC263, but it is currently OOS on Harman's site. Plus, most other sites list it as discontinued. I spoke with the chat support yesterday about future availability of the RC263. They escalated my question to a L2 Specialist who told me the RC263 is discontinued due to logistical issues..... But, that they would contact me when it comes back in stock.... So, I am still not sure if it will ever come back around or not.

The refurb is available but a lot more expensive than it's normal sale price: https://www.harmanaudio.com/louds...3BK-Z.html

I contemplated getting the R263 towers when they were $250 each and this refurb center but decided to go with Klipsch RP set of LCR instead. Klipsch set was $1218 + tax ($1291 total). Sucks because on sale the infinity R263 + RC263 LCR set would have been less than half of that and from reviews, seems like I probably wouldn't have missed much especially being a home theater newb. I just ordered 2 pairs of the infinity RS152 for side and rear surrounds and looks like they don't charge tax either so would have been even cheaper. I can still return my Klipsch although not sure if adorama covers return shipping. Need to stop checking these threads before I get buyers remorse LMAO

Never heard these speakers. Can say though, as an owner of the Infinity Beta 50's, you can FEEL the difference with larger speakers.

Quote from geek37 :

BI-WIRE CONNECTION - RC263, R253 AND R263
These speaker connection assemblies have two sets of input terminals
that are connected by metal jumper bars. The upper set of terminals
is for the midrange/tweeter, and the lower set of terminals is for the
woofers. This arrangement allows you to bi-wire the speakers using a
single stereo amplifier or using two stereo amplifiers. Bi-wiring can offer
sonic advantages and more flexibility in power-amplifier selection over
a conventional single-wire connection. Before bi-wiring the speakers,
remove the jumper bars.

Human hearing for young children is at about 20Khz. As you age it drops to around 16KHz.
These Infinity's I would think are very good sounding speakers, as I have owned a few different Infinity speakers, and they are smooth and detailed and pleasing to listen to.
For $200 on such towers, its hard to beat.
Also, I like JBL, but they tend to have harsher high's
Same Company, but they have their sounds and branding.
The JBL's have very smooth, natural highs, not harsh at all. I suspect the high end responsiveness helps the JBL's achieve better spatial surround reproduction.
I haven't listened to the Infinity 263. Based on what others have discussed, the Infinity may be better for music, and the JBL for home theater.

I was waiting a long time for these to come on sale and match my RC263 center.

Broke down couple of weeks ago and bought the JBL 580s.

At this price, I am debating if the 580s are worth $300more. Might get these as well…
