Good deal but for $100 more you can get the better version 80T with 5 year warranty at Costco
Edit….bought one earlier but now Costco says oos. Comes and goes

Agreed here and I've done a ton of Samsung research on the QLEDs (I own a 2019 Q7 and 2020 Q7 and there were MAJOR downgrades, like Full Array in 2019 vs Dual Edge Lit in 2020). Basically the old Q7 is on par with the newer Q8, Q8 to Q9, etc. Samsung rep at Costco confirmed this too and said it's been a huge frustration for consumers.
Either way, other than my Q7s mysteriously turning on occasionally, both have been very solid. Native 120hz, Costco warranty, and Samsung Smart dashboard UI were my biggest purchase factors.

To be fair the prices have been downgraded also. Though I agree the way they have shifted their line is only confusing people. Almost to the point where it seems intentionally misleading. I got my q80r in 2019 around this time thru EPP for $2k before the points from P@W. It's a great display.

For a TV I tend to agree. It's distracting in the dark. Assuming it gets bright enough, it would be fine for daytime.
