If they unlock the device with the purchase of 1 year plan, I am in. If not, no go for me. :\
great phone!
I used to get the newest samsung flagship each year, so glad I switched to this. the phone is still as snappy as the day I got it, great battery life and screen. make sure you buy a cover for the camera (ask me how i know lol).
the only android that's a direct competitor is the pixel pro.
after 3-4 years of daily use most phone battery usually degraded and has to be replaced

if, IF, we value the year of service at 15/mo, that makes the phone portion $170.
Seems like a good price for these specs.

Does it compare price/performance to a year or two old S series or pixel?

Why would you say $15/mo for their $25 service? lol. That plan comes with 12gb of hotspot data, it's normally priced at $40/mo if you don't pay a full year in advance.

As for the phone, there have been a couple threads (on slickdeals) about it, it seems pretty popular, but I think the curved edges are the major downside.

Lineageos is supported for this phone if battery last you that long.

Is it better to choose a new number while ordering this? I heard in another thread it's better to choose the other option

Good phone. I got this last year without the service for more. But boost blocks the esim, so don't get it if you're planning on using it while traveling.

Why wouldn't it? My Z3 Play and v30 don't have battery issues. Hell my 3DS still lasts a long time.

I have the 2022 version of this phone Edge + and like it a lot I got it a year ago for the $199 deal. I would love to get this phone for all the increased upgrades and speed and benefits and camera but I use a case with my phone and I'm not sure about The edges being curved I don't like curved edges on the phone with cases. And I have T-Mobile and I don't think this could be locked like the one I have now but it is a great deal

I'm aware. Had to swap .y Note 4's battery.

I know battery wear is a thing, but it's more of a concern when the battery is abused. Charging to 100%, discharging to 0%, etc. that's going to do more damage than < 80% over time. There's a reason every manufacturer has some kind of charge limit nowadays.

You can use any phone on T-Mobile, always could. I always have unlocked phones on my T-Mobile line. Have a Boost G Stylus 2022 on it.

I had the Edge 2020 with the OG waterfall screen. It was beautiful in person, never seen such a thing. I have used most of the Galaxy phones but that curve was special lol. Idk why curved screens get so much hate, they look nicer.

Can you clarify: is your phone still locked to Boost? If so, it is normal that the esim is also locked to Boost (otherwise it becomes a way to circumventing sim lock). But the esim should be usable after the phone is unlocked.

I carrier unlocked it through a code I purchased online. The esim is locked through the boost firmware, so the only way to fix this is to unlock the bootloader and flash the firmware which I find to be a hassle.
