This looks like a pretty good deal. The only thing I notice is that the Best Buy page says the RAM is running at 3000 MHz. Is that accurate? Would it be possible to get it running at 3200 MHz?

Looking at YouTube reviews, it looks like it's basically mandatory to upgrade the cooling if you plan to do anything graphically intensive. If you're ok with that, it seems like a good deal.

Upgrading the cooling is super cheap and relatively easy to do right?

Yeah, it's not too bad, but may be somewhat difficult if you've never worked inside a PC before. You need to find the right size fans, mount them in the right direction, and figure out where to plug them in for power and RPM control. There's a video here: https://youtu.be/vlYC3IkwQ8o

This is the other problem I see with this... what kind of motherboard does this come with (or chipset, for that matter)? I imagine it's not mentioned because it's something cheap (and perhaps unreliable). Perhaps that's also why the RAM comes running at 3000 MHz

Take the parts out and put them in a $70 NZXT/Phanteks case and you're golden.

That still doesn't mean you should go around buying any old pre-built, especially those that don't have the time and/or expertise to tinker with it.

It's not just the tinkering....it's the cost adding up too...it's a shame they skimped on the motherboard...replacing it would be another $300 on top. It all adds up to a $3k+ rig with taxes
