I've been a T-Mobile customer for over a decade and I'm not going anywhere so to me bill credits are cash.

This would be a great backup phone.

Hm I wonder how this is compared to the A32. Both are 6.5 but this one is on Snapdragon 480 with a 90hz screen. Retail value is also 70 bucks less so you'd pay less tax on this one

Should mention bill credits in subject.
IMO, the Metro promotion is a better deal.

Exactly. Especially for a Nord that will quickly plummet in value compared to Apple or Samsung.

I have an old and grandfathered plan, will they force me to upgrade to get a 5G phone, I don't care about 5G, just want to get a newer phone. I know newers phones can work with a 4G sim card. but wondering if the carrier will force people to switch.

Is this in lieu of the A32 offer, or another option?

No forcing. All T-Mobile plans that have LTE data also get 5G access for free.

The OnePlus N200 is probably better from the standpoint it has a Snapdragon and more importantly 1080p screen. It's also an IPS screen on the Nord.

The A32 only has a 720p screen and Mediatek processor.

Comparison:

The main advantage to the A32 is in theory it should have a physically better camera.

I believe it'll be a separate option
edit: it's replaced the A32

The phone is free after bill credits. $0. Can the value of the phone drop below zero? If you are staying with Tmobile for the next 2 years anyway, why not get a free phone from them?

What's the point of commenting this on a post for a FREE device? It's almost always the first comment I see on these types of posts.

Do people really wait for their alerts to go off just so they can race over and say the same crap each and every time?

It used to be contracts, now it's bill credits. No company is going to give you free phones without some kind of guarantee that they'll make some money off of you.

Lots of people stick with the same carrier for many years so bill credits aren't really an issue.

You can literally trade in any crappy device, as long as it works, and get a free phone.

If you're so uninterested in trade in deals and bill credits, then just pay for your devices out of pocket and use whatever cheap $10 a month plan you want, but then don't complain that no one gives you free stuff.
