As a Paper Mario purist (TTYD is one of my favorite games ever), I actually really enjoyed this game. It's beautiful, charming, and hilarious all the way through.

The only thing I don't like about this game is the combat system. But, for better or worse, there's not really much incentive to battle when you don't have to, so you can pretty much avoid enemy encounters and be fine. It's worth putting up with it for everything else.

Totally agreed. The battle system needs to be brought back from ttyd and refined. Sick of these experimental system with each release. Writing is too good to not be coupled with an engaging battle system

I found these Paper Mario games to be a lot of fun. I love the cowardly Toads and their comic relief. I haven't been able to complete other Mario games but I've been able to complete these. So if you love Mario, I suggest you pick this up.

Totally agreed. The battle system needs to be brought back from ttyd and refined. Sick of these experimental system with each release. Writing is too good to not be coupled with an engaging battle system

I finished the game but HATED and complained constantly about the battle system. What a letdown. If you're looking for a game that's fun to beat look somewhere else.

Anyone know if this game is similar to Color Splash on the Wii U? I found that game pretty enjoyable for the most part. I've heard a lot of people dislike this entry due to the battle system.

The N64 and GCN games are still the best imo but Nintendo has said they have moved away from those RPG elements in the Paper Mario series unfortunately.

This game isn't all that great. Wanted to like it, but the combat is super easy and too much story before you really do anything in the game.
