I just happened to notice these were on sale until 6/24. I purchased 2 sets, as I love the magnetic tips on these, and they're much better quality than the $3 black plastic handle set they sell (the same ones they would give away for free from time to time). Also, since HF hardly has 20% coupons anymore, and I don't recall these going on sale all that often, thought I would pass along.

I own a jack from them going on 10 years, great quality. Do their other products compare with the quality of the jacks they make?

I just picked this set up over the weekend. Unfortunately cannot apply the 20% Fathers Day coupon on top of this price, since it's already marked down. Yet to use it, but feels solid for the price

I had their jack fail on me once, thankfully the wheel was still on but it literally crumbled on itself and I had to use the spare tire jack to lift it off the side skirt (normal sedan). At this price I'm certain this is for light duty tasks (picture frames/tightening hinges etc), I would not recommend this for exterior automotive use (brakes/prying/etc). You could use this to take apart interior panel screws.

I bought the 22 piece Pittsburgh Screwdriver Set back in Feb for $10.99. Absolutely fantastic for the money.

You don't get under a car just supported by a jack. If the jack fails, car does not lift, or it lowers slowly.

So what is it you don't trust?

The tire definitely should have been on if you were still jacking it up. Once up you lower on jack stands then start your work after a safety check.

I know you said you literally had to use another jack to lift up the car to get the broken jack out, but how did you get it under in the first place? Car should be jacked up by the jack points or pinch welds, that all requires the jack clearing everything to get to that position in the first place.

Pro tip on jacks, they don't come with full hydraulic fluid. check the manual, it will tell you to top it off and how. Until you do that you won't get the best performance.

Exactly, no matter what brand jack you are using, to risk your life on a 25¢ o-ring without jack stands is foolish.

Never had their jack fail on me yet, though I've only used it a handful of times. Gotcha, so this is mainly for light use.
