Buy some LED closet lights with motion sensor. They work great for closets. I use them for my walkin closet.

I got this one. It is rechargeable.
It says battery will run out if you keep it on continuously for 6-8 hrs. I didnot test that yet.

I use a smart light switch + Ring door sensors to do this with an Amazon Alexa routine.
