What kind of game is this? What am I supposed to get from "Untitled Goose Game"??
I remember the first time I heard of this game. Then I used the internet to find out more. I guess I'm just weird that way...using the internet to answer questions that I have. Hey look, a gameplay video.
I was skeptical about this game at first but it turned out to be real fun. You play as the goose and you have tasks. It's straight forward but somewhat soothing.
I own this game on the Xbox One and it is SO fun! It's short, but it can be such a great time. It was also the gateway game for my 3-year-old because the controls and the game options were simple enough for her to understand how to move around and play the way she wanted, and the stakes were low enough that she didn't get too scared. It's kind of like a stealth-sandbox puzzle game, you have to sneak around the townspeople and mess with them in certain ways, but there are multiple ways to complete objectives and multiple ways to mess with people and goof around that have nothing to do with objectives.
Does this compare at all to goat simulator, as far as basic concept?
Not at all, really. Goat Simulator has more of a wild, goaty Tony Hawk feel to it, more explosions and chaotic randomness and wonky physics. The Untitled Goose Game is far more grounded and peaceful. The village is serene, the music is quaint, and the goose is naughty. It plays a bit like a stealth game and a puzzle game, you have to sneak around the townsfolk and figure out how to mess with them in the specific ways that show up on your checklist, or you can just run around honking at things, stealing random stuff, and being goofy

You're supposed to get the title from it… It's called, "Untitled Goose Game." You're then supposed to Google it if you want to see what it's about. I feel like you have a hard time figuring things out for yourself.
I signed up for the $30 for 3 months GameFly deal (unlimited game rentals, 2 out at a time) and added this game in my queue…I'll end up playing it for a couple weeks for $2.50 effective cost
So far I've rented Bowser's Fury and Pokémon Snap. Next up is Mario Maker 2 and Game Builder Garage.
