Not a big bomberman fan but I bought this way back on the release because it was one of 3 games out on Switch launch. I personally have spent almost no time on it with the other games available. Game's never done much for me and I never find myself reaching for it with friends either.

It's fun if you have a lot of people locally. I've played this with 7 other players at parties and it's really fun. Single player is not that fun.

The free battle royale mode on the eShop scratches the Bomberman itch without spending a dime. If you already own the full game, I think it gives you premium access.

If they added a team battle royale, I could see it having a small cult following and even bring back some of the nostalgia of the original games.

As sad as it is, all the fun of the originals was having people to play with locally.

But apparently the full game has a local co-op mode that might be worth a look?
