For that reason, you are paying $33/bulb for their brand.
If you need just one or two bulbs and don't really care for any further integrations, then $10 wifi color (not sure you'll get million of colors option though) will suffice.
Not everyone has a need for Hue. For me, I'm heavily invested and couldn't be happier.
Savings of $35 for one bulb ($134.99 - $99.99) would imply the cost should be $70 for two bulbs ($35 * 2).
But it costs $99.99 for two bulbs with "one free" which means the each bulb price should be $50 based on their math.
If this was a true "buy two get one free" the retail price of each bulb is $45 so the final price should be $89.99. In no way is this a "buy two get one free".

Why would you spend $33 on one bulb? Specially when similar app-controllable / smart - wifi bulbs are available for much less?
For that reason, you are paying $33/bulb for their brand.
If you need just one or two bulbs and don't really care for any further integrations, then $10 wifi color (not sure you'll get million of colors option though) will suffice.
