If support stops, you can always install a Linux distro (like Gallium OS), and then get infinite updates.

There is a difference between a user review and a professional review which uses a luminescence meter (cost in the hundreds) to determine actual nits of brightness, a colorimeter for actual RGB scale, and various professional battery tests/stress tests.

My 8yr old Windows laptop still runs fine with the latest Win 10 - and will probably do fine with Win 11. I have a stack of Apple laptops that make a good doorstop - if I wanted Linux on them, I would have bought a Dell and installed Linux. Forced obsolescence makes me want to never buy a Chromebook.

YMMV. My chromebook has celeron 3965 processor and I haven't gone crazy after 1 year.

I bought this yesterday - seems fine for my needs (literally just reading internet articles, and updating google docs, etc. online) - tired of having to sit a desk and don't want to use my other high-end notebook that I bought for photo editing.

Seems fine like I said, but the lack of touchscreen makes me crazy as I try and navigate around these websites (I'm on some specific forum type sites that are much easier to navigate with a mouse or touchscreen) - so that may not apply to everyone. I'm going to return it and look at getting a fire device with the detachable keyboard. I will add the google store to it. Going to see if I can snag better deal on prime day.

Okay price but you can usually find an HP with a touchscreen under 200 with an N3350, close enough that the screen makes up for the speed difference.
