That is a question loaded with variables. Anyways I will give my data points as a reference. For me here, 5G is a couple miles away on TMO and not that great. However, on my newer devices with the Standalone 5G Sim Card (VS say another same phone that i just popped in old SIM in instead). . .the phones with SA sims get 100-150mbps, where as the non SA sim phones gets 60-100 normally, all other things equal.

Another quirk is the 5G home internet Gateway I recently got. It seems to be non SA 5G, further evidenced by the primary signal always being set at 4G no matter how you twerk the online settings (other than shutting of 4G altogether, which shuts down communication in the end). And keep in mind I never get better than 'Good" signal on the app (There are higher VG and Excellent ratings). . .but when I am at "Good" it pulls from B2 4G or B66 4G. . .and Gives me 50-100Mbps hardwired. . .and when I twist the gateway slightly to where it gives me "Weak" signal. . .it seems to pull off the N71 5G tower and my speeds jump up to 100-200mbps hardwired. For reference, my 4G towers are just under a mile away due east, and the n71 5G tower is roughly 2 miles away and to the NE, so it's not that hard to try and exclude one or the other. . .

If you're planning on sticking with T-Mobile for the next 2 years, this is a great deal. They're giving $800 for Pixel 3s and S8s!

No, the phone can't have any cracks on the screen and must be functional.

This is so unfair, on Mothers day my Pixel 3a tades in for $400, on Fathers day the same phone trades in for $800 for the same Samsung Galaxy 21.
The patriarchy lives.

They told me I can't use the phone on my other line or else I would lose the credits. Its quite a restriction considering we are still a customer.
Thats a lie lol. U can even sell the phone and still get credit

Same applies for an iPhone 12 Max Pro but it's $1000 off, trading in my A71 5G.
I have Note 10 on the line I want to trade in but want to send in my A71 for trade. Do I have to swap A71 with Note 10 first before proceed with the trade ?

I would like to know this too. But maybe I am just getting old, but I don't like all these hoops, and bill credits, and such. Just knock the $500 or $800 off and let me pay the rest on the spot.
Maybe TM should just hang out on street corners and in malls and hand out free flagship phones to anyone who wants one? The business model behind bill credits is to keep you as a customer (that pays for the phone). Why would any business give away free items without something on the back-end to make that money back?

At what time does this start? I've checked and it still has the old $500 off promo.
(I have Magenta Max plan)

My brother works at TMobile. If your trade-in's back is cracked it's 100% accepted. But if the front is cracked they'll give you a lower amount. I've traded in phones like these before and can confirm from experience.

Off topic, T mobile signal is not great here, but they do have one of the best customer service. With them being one of the better 5G network, will that improve signal strength? Or 5G means you get faster speed if you get good coverage?

I will stay with them if they can improve their signal strength in the near future.
make sure the phone you're using on T-mobile has band 71 (600mhz) - Tmobile bought this spectrum a few years ago - it previously was the UHF band for analog TVs. 600mhz goes farther and can penetrate buildings better in urban areas.

I think the trade-in phone must be active on the account and here is why. I have 2 lines that I plan to trade in, one with Note 10 and the other is iPhone 7+ but I plan to send in 2 of A71 for trade. During the online trade-in process they give me $800 off for Note 10 but $500 off for iPhone 7+. Hence I got $300 less on the 2nd line. After swap iphone with A71 then I got $800 for the trade value.
