I'm using it with the 4.0 and the 6.0 and it's great. It's lightweight which is the most important thing and much much quieter than anything else that I've used. Heck, it's quieter than the typical handheld home cordless vacuums. So it's great for little cleanups, e.g. cutting drywall for outlet and clean up quickly, drill concrete patio and cleanup quickly, cut baseboard in the house and cleanup quickly, you see where I'm going with this. Having said that, I managed to do a quick sweep of 500sqft floor + stairs and still had plenty of 4.0 battery left. If someone is looking to substitute their corded dry/wet vac, they're fooling themselves, either in 12V or 18/20V platforms. But the convenience won't be beat in any way.

Same size hose. 51cfm for bosch. 50cfm for milwaukee.

4.0ah at 18v is same run time (technically energy) as 6.0ah at 12v.

So really does come down to other things like form factor or if you want to invest in a particular battery platform.

The 12V Milwaukee has more cfm than the 20V Dewalt.

50cfm vs. 33cfm

Dewalt doesn't list suction but same size hose.

I have the M18 shop vac and it's awesome. I feel like 9AH battery is the minimum though.

I wonder how the M12 vacuum performs with the 6AH battery.

Very tempted. I've been looking for something to suck out all of the weep holes around the house. I think this could fit the bill.

This or the Bosch (if you don't already have either system's batteries)?

Pulling the trigger on this. Been eyeing since it launched and hesitated initially because of early reports of the unit cutting off after a few seconds due to thermal overload. Seems like those issues are worked out now, and this is a solid (if not quite "slick") deal with the 6ah battery and charger. Now I just need the M12 pin nailer to go on sale...

EDIT

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the pin nailer [homedepot.com]. Had an HD coupon for 10% off orders of $299 or more, so after adding it to my cart and applying the coupon I'm getting another $35 off the total. If you have the HD credit card, you should have received the same 10% offer via email or snail mail.

For what it's worth, the kit number sold these days at home Depot is 0960-21H, which corresponds to the new units without thermal overload issues. The older kits had number 0960-21 (without the H). I wanted to pick a bare tool from other retailers recently. Now being sure that I got the updated unit from THD and a 6.0& charger for essentially $20 was pretty slick for me Wink

It doesn't seem like a terrible price, but the M18 bare tool is $119. Is it worth getting? I use my Rigid 6hp corded all the time. Thoughts?

I've got a corded Ridgid as well which is a beast. It will suck pieces of brick and anything I throw at it. I love it but it's loud and heavy and don't want to carry it around when I'm just drilling for Tapcons and need to clean the concrete dust from the holes. I keep it now for long cleanups of sawdust from my saws, wet vacuum of leaks etc. For everything else, M12 fuel it is!

I picked one of these up last month at HD, must have been the day they stocked them because they have been sold out since.

Its a nifty little vac, fits in the low profile tool box on my truck with my other every day tools.

For small jobs its perfect. I hung a bunch of anchors and pictures for my mom and some other small things and this was excellent in the clean up after words.

The 18V Dewalt worked really well. Both the Dewalt 20V versions have terrible suction, a big let down.

My concern is 3min run time per AH? Love my Milwaukee 12V tools but mostly have 1.5 AH batteries. That would mean if I used up all 4 I may get 18 minute run time? OUCH!

I have plenty of Dewalt 20V batteries 3/4/5 and even some flexvolts. But again, their vacuums suck.

The Milwaukee 18V gets great reviews, but 2 battery types are enough for me, (Dewalt 20V and Milwaukee 12V)
