4.0ah at 18v is same run time (technically energy) as 6.0ah at 12v.
So really does come down to other things like form factor or if you want to invest in a particular battery platform.
50cfm vs. 33cfm
Dewalt doesn't list suction but same size hose.

EDIT
Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the pin nailer [homedepot.com]. Had an HD coupon for 10% off orders of $299 or more, so after adding it to my cart and applying the coupon I'm getting another $35 off the total. If you have the HD credit card, you should have received the same 10% offer via email or snail mail.

I'm still trying to see/touch one of the Ryobi 3gal or gal models, but my local Home Depot stores do not keep it in stock. Yuck

My concern is 3min run time per AH? Love my Milwaukee 12V tools but mostly have 1.5 AH batteries. That would mean if I used up all 4 I may get 18 minute run time? OUCH!
I have plenty of Dewalt 20V batteries 3/4/5 and even some flexvolts. But again, their vacuums suck.
The Milwaukee 18V gets great reviews, but 2 battery types are enough for me, (Dewalt 20V and Milwaukee 12V)
Use it for any little job that doesn't need a big vacuum.
If you spill some whatever in the kitchen, you can sweep it up, but it always leaves that tiny bit that the dustpan misses.
I have a microfiber duster and after using it, I vacuum the dust off.
I typically use a cordless blower to blow the dirt out of my truck. Using the vacuum I can get those hard to blow areas.
Got a little dust on whatever, suck it off.
I use a cordless vac more often than a corded vac but I use a corded vac for longer than I use a cordless vac.
Project Farm tested some cordless vacs, including the M18 and the Ridgid, which he liked.

This is what you bring when you have a portable tool and you want a long lasting portable vacuum that will last for more than an hour on battery. Say you have a portable router/or portable battery operated miter saw that you bring where no power is, This Dewalt vacuum will continually be on sucking every fine dust for couple of hours.
No other portable vacuum can match its battery life but of course, the downside is also lower suction power. They do have their purposes but I wish there's 2 speed... one for endurance and one for suction power... You can't have both at the same time for portable vacuum.
