Apple doesn't ask for any proof. Literally ANYONE can get the discount. The fine print, if I recall, even says parents can buy for themselves.

I didn't try buying it yet, but I see in terms it says "Redemption limit one gift card per guest"
Thats what I saw too and was wondering with several people suggesting this route to sweeten the deal, had anyone actually tried to make it work.

My friend is looking to buy a M1 Macbook Air.

Is this the best deal, or something else will come up during Prime Day or at Target/Walmart/Bestbuy?

I am not a Mac person so can't really help him with that.
I doubt much on prime day. Usually a bestbuy or amazon deal on a newer mac is the same or less than an Apple student discount.

$100-$200 or so off AND free AirPods? You can't beat the back to school deal Apple usually does

I have an ipad pro order that hasn't even shipped yet that was ordered through the EDU store. anyone know if they'll add the airpods to the order?
I had a trade in etc. and didn't want to have to cancel and reorder and start the wait all over again on the ipad pro. I just chatted with apple (after a looong wait) and they added the free airpods to my order since isn't even shipping until the end of the month. I actually opted to pay $90 and upgrade to the airpod pros...

and people said they have done it multiple times, orders get cancelled like if you order too many but like 2 a day is fine

Andyc, My girlfriend has been needing a laptop for months now and she doesn't care about having the newest of anything. It was either this or a surface pro lol.
Thank you. Just on the fence. I want this deal, but really want to know the specs on the new mbp.

I just recently bought a Mac mini with education discount not a month ago. Can I get this to apply to that order?
Every retailer but Costco has 14 day returns. Costco has 90. And they give an extra year warranty free.

You can only do this for one card per account though right?
No. I bought 8 cards. Same account, 8 different orders. Basically order 1 and wait till its delivered before ordering the next card.

What a sham. The schools haven't even closed yet.
These companies will turn anything into a sales event. It's annoying.

If you can use the AirPods, the education deal is probably the best you will get. I believe the best price for AirPods (2nd gen) last year around christmas time was in the $110-$120 range. If you want to resell the AirPods, it may not be worth it due to so many fake ones selling for around $50.

IMO, second best deal is their refurbished ones. Right now the M1 MacBook Air with 256gb storage is $849. Best part is their refurbished products have brand new batteries, look new (not so much as a single scratch on them), and they still have the same warranty as brand new - 1 year. You can even add AppleCare to them just like new ones. it's a no-brainer IMO.

The new Macbook Air is at least 5 months away (the current version was launched Nov 2020). The new 14" Macbook Pro (supposed with mini-LED and M1X) will most likely cost more than the current Macbook Pro 13.
