Best bet is to buy Total Wireless gift cards from Target.com when discounted. Target.com usually doesn't have taxes and fees with Total Wireless cards.

I am in California and without auto-refill discount it shows 4-lines for:

subtotal$100.00
tax1$0.00
local charge, cpuc user fee and ppp surcharges2$2.22
prepaid 911 surcharges2$0.30
federal universal service3$1.30
regulatory cost recovery4$0.20
total$104.02

Enroll in auto-refill you will get another $5 discount.

True. Bestbuy also runs promotion with 10% off regularly.

I received mine today, brand new, short box, contained usb-c to lightning cable, no power block, no headphones. Very happy with purchase.

I plan to unlock with an unlock tool. Do I need to register it first with the total wireless sim, and have a phone number assigned before I unlock?

I think I ordered too many phones from them because now every time I try to order it says my payment method was declined. IIRC this is their way of saying you ordered too much already. Tried several cards, new cards etc and my bank is definitely not declining the purchase. This has been going on for weeks.
I don't think it is be unpause you ordered too many phones from them, but because you ordered so many and did not activate them on total wireless…. So sad how many slickdealers do not understand the difference between getting a deal and trying to get over on someone else. The former is a promotion to benefit the buyer and seller, the later is akin to being a thief and is immoral and criminal and it comes back to haunt you as people will treat you this same way return.

Sorry you are wrong. I sim swap my TW sim into my SE 2020 that is from Simple Mobile. I recently bought a plan on Net10 and did the same. No need to go with a BYOD sim. I don't care about it getting it unlocked by TF as there are plenty of work arounds available.
Lol, actually you are wrong, read harder, I said I don't think you can. Typical SDer, and totally missed my point about unlocking… won't happen in 12 months on another tracfone brand lol

I am out of town, and asked my neighbor to check my package.
He said box was kind of big for a phone, and was a little bit damaged.
He could see inside through a hole, and saw a white box.

Is the white box is for new phone or reconditioned one?

Not sure how the boxes differ but the two I bought came in white, sealed Apple boxes (not reconditioned).

Also, very surprised that FedEx didn't require signature on these.

rsim for a 'soft' unlock.
Which basically means if you have to reset your phone, you have to soft unlock it again.

The prepaid companies usually ship their reconditioned/refurb phones in a plain white box.

I believe the box for this phone is white but it would have the iPhone imagine on the front of the box...Same as an apple retail box.

Can someone link to a guide on what rsim is and how to do it? This seems like a good deal for my little brother who is still rocking a 6s, but I have no idea how the rsim thing works and we have Tmobile. Thanks in advance
