Amazon is selling the DeWalt FlexVolt 60V MAX Circular Saw (DCS578B) for a very slick $170. I've seen this saw bounce between $199 and $229, but haven't seen it at the $170 level since November 2020.

FYI - I don't think you can use 20V batteries on this, only the 60V FlexVolt batteries.

I have this saw and it's one of the best on the market in my opinion. That said, it's pretty heavy.

To save a click if this is a deal breaker, this is the blade right saw, not the blade left "worm drive style" saw.

And yes this saw REQUIRES the flex volt batteries it will NOT run on the 20v. I dont think this is a big deal, the dewalt Flexvolt line is one of the best cordless tool platforms in the market. The circ saws, Grinder, table saw and miter saw are the best on the market. This saws biggest competitors Skilsaw and Milwaukee both require special batteries (ok technically the Milwaukee doesn't but it's a gutless saw without a HO) the makita runs on 2x 20v but isn't as powerful as its competition.

To add to the above comment about this requiring a 60v Flexvolt battery, there is a "Flexvolt Advantage" version which does allow a 20v battery for only $7 more.

Love my flexvolt worm drive saw (blade left version). I may be in the minority or maybe it's my part of the country, but nobody I've ever worked with likes blade right saws. Personal preference/handedness I guess.

I was considering the Flexvolt Advantage but even with a flexvolt battery that saw isn't as powerful as the posted 60V saw. Have to match equipment to the need I guess.

I'm a big fan of DeWalt cordless tools, but I have to say this may just be my least favorite 7-1/4" saw in 40 years of running circular saws. I'll be the first to admit that it was the first cordless saw I've used that could begin to compete with corded saws. That said, this right blade saw makes me look an amateur. It tracks poorly and the blade doesn't align with any of the indicators. Maybe It's a bad unit, but I sure wish I had bought the left blade worm drive model.

The deal with the Flexvolt Advantage is that you have to use the batteries that release enough wattage for the available increase in tool power. And for that, the minimum would be an 8amp 20v, or a 9amp Flexvolt. In fact, many of the bundles (DCS574W1 [lowes.com]) include an 8amp 20v, that yes, there is a noticeable difference from say, a 5amp 20v.

Like many, we bought the DCS574W1 on sale last Christmas for less than $200 for the package with the 8amp 20v and 118 charger. Next to the OP 60v, with the 8amp battery, it is close in power.
