There's a review of the 1 TB S31 at Tom's Hardware, see https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...-us-market

Their Verdict:
Quote :
SK Hynix's Gold S31 is a top SATA SSD pick. With performance figures of up to 560MBps, it trades blows with some of the best and is competitively priced.

If u have a game console u can use the ones 250gb and up as a external drive for extra game storage. Another good use for them is if you have any android tvs or boxes you can use them on those for extra os storage to save more apps. I used all my lower sized drives this way so they didn't goto waste.
Buy an external enclosure with a USB 3 connection (cheap) or a USB Type-C connection that will support your drive, and you can make a big flash drive out of it - will be faster than a typical drive and a lot bigger.
I paid this much for a 120GB drive not long ago. I feel old.

This is likely an accurate statement based on this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc...a_iii_ssd/

I took a chance on this drive a year ago for a pc upgrade, not knowing the brand, but heard good things on forums. This drive is a champ, Fast, quiet and efficient. I might get this, but really want to get a 2tb version for a game install drive, now that I know the brand performance is good.

Will this be a decent replacement for my PS4 hd?

Yes and no

You'll need a Nvme to sata converter just to be able to install it, and any additional speed of the drive will be throttled through the sata connection. It'll be an improvement over the stock mechanical, but the excess speed is wasted. I went with the crucial mx500 in my ps4 pro and have had no issues.

This is a SATA SSD, not an NVME drive. An NVME to SATA connector isn't needed to conect this drive to a PS4.
