This is a portable induction cooktop, for use on a 110v circuit. You can only pull so much power from a 110v AC outlet, so any portable induction burner is going to be limited to about 1500w. Anything running 1800w would exceed the load if you had any other device running on that circuit.

From http://www.builderscalculator.com...p-circuit/
The price is phenomenal, but 1500w for 2 burners? I don't consider a single induction burner with less than 1800w
From what the review say, it is good, but has been as low as $35 in the past. I love my Waring portable induction cooktop that I used to use in my RV. Saved a lot in propane costs, and is healthier. I think I would prefer two standalone ones to the combined one, as if you plug them into separate circuits, you can cook things on higher heat at once.
But, the double one looks so nice when sunken in to a countertop!

I found out most of my cookware doesn't work with induction. Do a magnet test before getting induction

The single looks to be higher power too 1800w or just 1 burner. With 1500w split for 2 at best the 2nd is on simmer max. Unless you're really into slow cooking.

From http://www.builderscalculator.com...p-circuit/
Quote :
Many 15A breakers nowadays can handle 1800 watts (100% load) continuously [...] however, some circuit breakers are rated at 80% of their current rating for continuous loads.
The NEC (National Electric Code) defines a continuous load as "a load where the maximum current is expected to continue for three hours or more."
Section 384-16(c) of the NEC also states that a standard OCPD (overcurrent protection device) can be loaded to only 80% of its rating for continuous loads.
In this case, the max watts on a 15 amp circuit with a standard breaker are 0.8*1800 = 1440 watts.

I have really nice cookware that I've had for over 20 years. Not gonna replaceit. I'll just stick with gas.
I thought you were using it for travel, I also have an old set. I also have some induction cookware to use on products like this.
