That's the opposite of my experience. All my 3rd party cables eventually break (won't charge, won't recognize, etc) but the Apple ones never really broke unless they're bent too much and the rubber breaks down. I've never bought Apple cables from Amazon though so it could be like the above comments said, that you got counterfeits

My iPad 7th gen charging cable recently stopped detecting after daily use of a couple years. Ended up buying a generic 10 foot cable which has reinforced rubber tips. Way better

My wife is on her 3rd in a 3 years. Apple cables/chargers are garbage, on purpose.
i'll agree with you on this. every original charger that came with my apple products started fraying and splitting at the ends after a short period of time.
after a few years of it happening, you'd think apple would have fixed it by now but i guess they like making money on selling extra chargers
