It happens. Two guesses: this is a typical sale price and maybe they didn't consider it enough of a "deal"? Hue posts also attract the down-voters who think the ecosystem is overpriced or not worthwhile. You got a thumbs up from me - keep on posting, friend.

So, this was one of my first attempts at sharing a deal. I got two thumbs down right off the bat. Anyone care to help me with what I did wrong?

Regardless of what you post, some people will always thumb down no matter what the deal is. Don't worry about the haters. You did a great job and people like me appreciate you and others posting. Thumbs up from me!

I appreciate it. I was just trying to figure out if there was something I needed to do differently in the future. Wasn't sure if I posted correctly 🥴

A few months ago Costco had the 3 light starter kit for $69. Target had the 4 light kit for $120...
Those are the kinds of deals everyone wants. It may help to look at previous posts to see whether it's a good deal or not.

I won't bother sharing anything going forward. I have a life and a job; going through previous posts to determine if a current deal is "good enough" deal in comparison to previous deals isn't worth my time. As we all know, these items are starting to go up in price. Therefore, what was a good deal "a few months ago" has very little relevance to what a good deal is now. It's up to each individual to decide if a deal is for them or not. Don't read any tone into this as it isn't intended as angry or derogatory. I just thought letting people know that something was available at a discounted price so they could determine if it was "good enough" for them and / or so they could do their own research was what this was all about. 🤷🏻 ♂️

I was comparing this deal to any other or saying this was a "big deal". I simply shared a sale. $50 off seems like it may be worth sharing for some people. People can decide which "deal" works for them based on their needs when comparing the differences and similarities. 🤦🏻 ♂️

I didn't thumb you down but I bought these 3 years ago for the same price at BBB. not a great deal for people that can wait
Three years ago... Any chance you've noticed the increased prices on these, and everything else, recently?

then why do you worry about TD? people usually TD because they get notifications when its not actually a great deal. I have not see any price increases on these. when I bought the regular price for these was 200. and it was on sale for 185 at BBB (not a great discount) and you can apply 20% at BBB any day. so the regular price at BBB is 160 with 20% discount.

Genuine question. Feit electric has their smart color changing bulbs on sale right now at Costco for $10 (normally $20) for 2 bulbs. I bought another pack as I have several Feit smart bulbs and plugs now. They work flawlessly with my echos around the house to turn on or off or change colors and dim. Or just using the Feit app. So what does a Philip Hue ecosystem like this get me for $150 versus $20 for the same amount of bulbs with Feit?
