They made the mistake of overhyping this game about a decade too early and then crickets. Also a horrible mistake to even release it for PS4/Xbox 1s generation consoles. When "high" settings at 1080p on PC brings frames down to it's knees to sub 30 with a yesteryear's top of the line 1080ti and stuttery gameplay with any CPU older than a six core Zen+ or Kaby Lake I7-7700, what were they thinking? People with 2013 consoles would still expect their hardware to run something like this smoothly lol. Would have left a better legacy to have left them out and perhaps only run on last gen consoles thru game streaming.

I had a decent time with the game looking past its flaws, but it was underwhelming given the expectations, and the state of the game was absolutely unacceptable. It's marginally better now but even the new 1.23 patch introduced more glitches. It's like they're playing whack-a-mole with these patches, it's utterly absurd. I thought they'd have had it fixed after a month or two after but I never thought we'd be this far out with so many problems. I'm on Series X and beyond the wacky glitches (some of which are gamebreaking; I still have sidequests that are impossible to complete), the texture loading and pop-in reminds me of PS2 era. Which is really a shame because when the game's seams aren't showing, the graphics are among the best I've ever seen. It must truly be awful on Xbox One/PS4.

The sad thing is that the core game is actually quite good. I still do have some confidence that the game will be much closer to what we expected, but probably not until a year post-launch with the next-gen patches, DLC, etc. The CP2077 launch will go down as one of the greatest follies in the annals of videogame history.
I've put a lot of hours into both Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky and believe that ET for the Atari is still the worse game ever. My tolerance for playing bad games is pretty high, so my opinion doesn't count for most. Anyway, Cyberpunk is an entertaining game if you let yourself enjoy it. It crashed on me only a few times at a little over and hour of play and glitched a few times, but wasn't unplayable for me. I started on the PS4 and then moved to the PS5 which was a big improvement on loading and visuals. The latest updates are unnoticeable for me, probably because I didn't run into as many issues. I'm a slow, stealth, strategy, explorer player, so I have been mainly doing side missions, and for the most part, they are different enough to appreciate the time spent developing them. I think the players who rush through games hit too many bugs and aren't patient.

I love the scenery and size of the game, the city feeling and emersion are there, but the GPS system is terrible and the hand to hand fighting could be way better.

Could you buy this and return the game to only keep the steelbook?

I tried this last year and they charged me $30 for the steelbook. I originally bought the game and steel to keep, but the horrible reviews scared me off playing it.

Stupid move on my part.

Why buy a broken game?

Wait for it to be free on ps plus in a couple of months.

This is also why you shouldn't ever pre-order a game. Also buy an Xbox, forget ps5. There are better games for Xbox along the line did exclusive games.

Even after completing this game 100%, I seriously considered buying this but I'll pass. Not enough replay value to justify buying another copy and they will probably release the steelbook (Only) for $5 later if stock permits.

about the steel books (if not mentioned already), the steel book from the collectors edition is what might fetch a nice amount of change, the ones from best buy are different and they arent really selling for much

So I stupidly bought the game (actually Pre-ordered it) on Xbox one X and barely played it since it launched. I hear Xbox is still taking returns on this (changing July 1st). Should I just return the digital purchase and buy it from best buy?

Had 5$ credit with Best Buy and ended up paying 16$ for it. Will just hold onto it and leave it sealed since this will receive a free upgrade to the true next gen version. Thanks OP!

Is it worth the amount of time you'll take to go through all of the steps required to process the return and go buy it again from another retailer?

I just want got the Xbox Series X and decided to go full digital. I'm tired of having drawers/cabinets full of games. How come they never have deals on digital versions?

Regardless of what was said, I played this game through at launch and it is pretty damn awesome.
