As a brand I would highly recommend Sony TVs. Every Samsung I have owned has lasted less than a year and a half and have been Wayover priced for what you get. My five year old 75 inch Sony is still going strong, and it's on 12 hours a day
My $2000 Samsung plasma lasted 13 months, just one month after the warranty expired. It literally got so hot that it warped the frame. My electricity bill went down $100 a month after it died, good riddance

Depends. It ups the contrast because it can have deeper blacks but makes the viewing angle crap.

Only LG does IPS. VA has better contrast and deep blacks. IPS has better viewing angles.

Sams had this deal 2 weeks back for 649 something. When I asked the manager for the display piece, she denied. Left frustrated.
