Whatever difference there is in in the ratings, you won't notice a $200 difference. Vizio makes a nice tv, but I'll take the reliability of Sony every time.

VRR still does not work on this panel. Firmware has been in plans since it was released but I doubt they will ever release it at this point

As someone who is on my 3rd Vizio P series Quantum set (2018 model), get the Sony. I've been saved by Costco's extended warranty thankfully with my Vizio, but there's a reason the specs look so good and there doesnt appear to be a drawback on paper. Vizio makes a lot of low quality junk, even on their high end, and they havent seemingly addressed many of their commons problems for years now like power cycling, video board issues, blooming problems, tons of random freezes or no loads requiring hard reboot, etc...

I too got suckered in to their high zone count, high brightness at a low price back in early 2019...first one I brought home had such bad blooming I thought it was a dud. Brought it back to costco to exchange, the 2nd one had similar blooming issues. Kept it because i thought i guess this is where FALD tvs are these days, then over a year later it crapped out and had to warranty claim it. New one from a year ago is still exhibiting similar issues to the previous one but is still ticking at least for now.

The same model X90CH at Costco is $1999.99.
Not sure if there will be other deals on July 4th. Should I take my chance and wait till 7/4??

Great deal for this TV. I've been price watching this for some time and even Verde toe was more expensive (when they had stock).

I could not believe that both on my watch list dropped so dramatically, the Vizio 85" P dropped below 2k (sams club) and I went with it.

Now is the time to grab 2020 models.

This tv looks great mounted on the wall. It's size is incredible and the picture quality is great. This is at least $200 cheaper than I've seen.

Yep same TV.
Stores have been phasing these out for a few months, there's a good chance that inventory is gone by the 4th of July. Even Verde Toe is back ordered.

The 900h (amazon) and vizio p (sams club) are at historical lows.. I have been watching both for months and was hoping that one would drop today.

Such a tough decision. The Vizio is $200 more right now and eeks out a win on the rtings comparison.

Responses are probably biased to 900h here (because it's a 900h thread) but can anyone offer some insight?

You talking the Vizio PQX? I have 75" PQX and this Sony. And I'm nearly indifferent between the two. Vizio is insanely bright, but that causes quite a bit of blooming. The software and UI on Vizio is inferior, but that can be remedied almost 100% by a Roku stick.
I wouldn't hesitate on this TV at this price, not for a minute. No regrets.
