One is 13.3 and another is a 16 inch laptop. So, how will you be comparing these two? Performance is obviously going to be better in Lenovo because of bigger chassis and better cooling.

You're right, completely different sizes.
First look at this refreshed Inspiron line looks hopeful, but may actually end up as cheap and crappy as before.
Maybe Latitude and Precision are the only way to go with Dell.

I think you are not following the latest generation Inspiron lineups and what Dell is doing. In 2020, Dell has revamped the whole Inspiron 7000 and 5000 lineup, including look, build quality and material and port selection. Inspiron 7000 series now almost as good a as, say XPS lineup of 2 generations ahead, with full metal construct, very slim design and better cooling solution. They have even added Thunderbolt 4.
In 2021, they have revamped the whole Inspiron 5000 lineup, with three models, 15" 5518/5510, 14" 5410/5418 and 13.3" 5310/5318.
This model has not been widely available anywhere in the world and in USA, only Amazon is offering it and Dell official US site does not even has it listed. It has full metal construct, XPS like Dual Fan + Dual heatpipe design, very slim chassis, 16:10 QHD+ display and a dedicated MX450 which is over 20% to 30% powerful than Iris Xe Integrated GPU. It also has Thunderbolt 4.
