Can anyone comment on the AC-1200 Mesh system for a 1200sq-ft house and attached deck? I'm currently using the standard Xfinity modem/router. My NVIDA Shield on the deck will usually stream 4k movies but it has spotty performance at times. My house has wet plaster/metal lath walls.

Currenty a deco x20 user. Also added Deco M9s and could not be happier with the performance 3 room across/ 3 walls without direct LOS between TV and the router. Works really well
Get the Belkin AX3200/RT3200 instead of the AX1800, it's $10 more with code WLC2BELKIN at belkin.com.
It's also Openwrt capable, fw is in beta though.
How likely is it to move from beta to full release? I have only recently started looking after my mesh system went on the fritz. It looks like it could replace my current mesh system and my firewall box all in one but I'm nervous about relying on beta software.

It's definitely going to be in the stable.
They're already at RC3 of the 21.02 release, it should be in the one coming next.
There are some "issues", like no 160MHz band support in the webUI, so some config
have to be done over SSH, but it works well, AFAIK.

I have the TPLink Archer A20 but it is defective and outside the warranty period (5Ghz radios not working). Frustrated with TPLink so thinking about the Belkin. Can the stock firmware host an OpenVPN server? I don't see any mention in the owners manual.
I've only skimmed over this but apparently there's a serious unresolved flaw that affects many (most? all?) modern TP-Link routers where wifi connected devices won't show up in the list of wifi clients.
A TP-Link rep in the forum confirmed the issue and there still doesn't seem to be a fix which is pretty concerning since the thread was created 9/19. Not being able to accurately monitor your wireless network is a definite dealbreaker for a lot of people .

Some of these items were the same price yesterday with 15% cash back on the amazon card. Thought the sale might be better for prime day or at least the same. Pretty disappointed that it's actually worse.

If it's supported there, then the Belkin could run one too, but they might still have removed
the functionality from the Belkin FW.
Or just flash openwrt directly
