This doesn't seem like a great deal. The series 3 is still being sold, but apparently version upgrades are difficult because of a lack of space on the watch. The series 4 and 5 are no longer sold. If you really want a starter Apple Watch I think it might be best to go with the SE if you can find a deal.

For people who never owned one of these. You need an iPhone to use this, you can't get past setup without one.

Yep I just recently sold my series 3 and upgraded to the SE. It got to the point where I had to wipe my watch every time there was an update.

Can multiple watches be linked to one phone with separate profiles?

I just bought a series 5 from this deal 3 weeks ago. Arrived with one minor scratch. I'm happy with the price I paid but probably could have waited on a series 6 deal and spent a little more for brand new.

I got two series 5 watches (a 40mm and a 44mm , both with LTE) on eBay around November for $200 and $250 (including AppleCare) - both came in pristine condition. So deals like that are what people should look for, since they can be had if you are patient.
