Looks like the Wen only does gasoline. Less than ideal for emergencies. Gas can get scarce quickly. Anything similar that can do NG?

Something to note here:

- Running wattage is 9500W gas, 8550W propane. 12,000W is "peak".
- I don't think this is inverter genny. Save yourselves some headache and get an inverter WEN here: https://wenproducts.com/products/...-compliant

Regular price on these and similar generators are around $1000-1100, and they go on sale a good amount. I had to cancel a couple orders for a Pulsar after they repeatedly lied about stock and shipping times during a previous Slickdeals deal.

Wish it had a higher running and starting and I'd consider the wen for the inverter.

I agree, wen still doesn't make a invertor generator with 9500 running watts. Wish they do though.

From what I am seeing on home depots questions for this generator, the THD is between 5 to 7% under load. If this is true, this is my sweet spot range for price vs performance.

Is this the one that used to be on Ebay for $599? Those times are probably gone now.

I'm clueless about generators. Can you hook these up to your home gas lines with an adapter like one does with gas bbq grills?

No, you need a separate regulator and kit to bypass the carburetor, along with numerous fittings and hoses. It's very doable though (search the 'tube for details).

For portable inverter generators that much power is about max you can get.

Pulsar does not run on NG either, it runs on LP. If you are looking to simply plug it into a gas line, it will not work unless you already have a large LP tank on your property. And while you can run it on BBQ tank, it will run out much faster than gasoline, so you are not better off here either.

Yeah. I would be looking for something NG.

This may or may not work for you, but what I did is get a running 7000W champion inverter generator (might be out of price range for a slick deal), and upgraded it with a snorkel gas attachment [ebay.com]. This was a pretty easy upgrade, didn't require to cut a frame, and I successfully verified generator to work on all 3 types of fuel. If I was to speculate, this WEN generator [wenproducts.com] should work as well, since snorkel attachment goes under air filter, and it looks this WEN generator has ample space behind it.

I strongly recommend using inverter generator even if it's lower power. 7000W is plenty. Microwave oven, and every typical plug-in device use maximum 1500W. In emergency it's OK if you don't have full power, you can temporarily live without heavy power appliances. What you absolutely don't want during emergency is to have any of your appliances or electronics fail due to the low quality power.
