Oh wow, I didn't know Amazon was selling Amazonbasics filament again. It had horrible ratings and they discontinued it. Never heard anyone say it was good as Hatchbox. I wonder when they started selling it again, and if it's any better than it used to be. I think Overture was the manufacturer of the old stuff. I had layer adhesion issues with it, but by fiddling with it and printing slower and hotter I got it to print.

I never had an issue with AmazonBasics standard PLA during the first offering a couple of years ago. I bought many different colors across many different orders and found it to be just as good as Hatchbox.

I have purchased a couple of standard PLAs in the last few months since they began selling again, with no issues, however, I have had issues with the AmazonBasics Silk PLA.

Out of 3 different rolls purchased, only one (a copper filament) was without problems. I purchased a roll of white silk PLA that was either just slightly larger in diameter than it should have been, or the filament composition was not what it should have been because it created friction in the bowden tubing and consequently required more force to pull through than either of my printers could handle. I returned it and got a replacement roll which had the same problem.

Same issue across oem robo tube, oem ender 3 pro tube, and non-oem capricorn tubing.

Gst3d has 10 spools of PLA+ for $100 shipped. Stuff is great, my only complaint is that their gold is more of a green.

Blue silk is my fav filament- haven't tried it from AmazonBasics, but haven't had any issues with the brand in other colors. Ordered a few to give it a try. Thanks for the heads-up OP!

I saw they had pleg white on sale... I am a newbie 3d printer, haven't assembled my ender 3 v2 yet.. I think pla is easier but would having pleg be good?

Thanks for the share. I second the view that Amazon Basics is as good as Hatchbox. Plus it's made in the Netherlands, whereas most of the other brands (including Hatchbox) are made in China - in case you have qualms about supporting that economy.

Are you saying that Amazon basics or hatchbox is made in the Netherlands? the pic of the box for the Amazon basics silk blue clearly shows made in China.

For my previous pla purchases, Amazon basics was made in the Netherlands. Hatchbox was made in China. Yeah I see that on the box there. Amazon must either use a different provider for these, or the image is inaccurate.

Not sure if I should bother... Sunlu PLA+ has always printed amazing and can be usually had for about 19$
