I've heavily debated getting this for Switch but realized I'd probably be happier with it on my phone. I always have my phone but not always my Switch. Hoping to see this discounted similarly on iOS. Regardless: good price for those who want it on Switch. Thanks OP.

Awesome/addicting game. I have had issues with is freezing up as the game progresses and uses up more RAM…however, so addicting I bought it for the PC.

Did they over print this game? These were on clearance at my local Target for $8 last year. Ebay has used copies hovering around the same price year around which means the seller is giving the game away for free after paying fees/shipping.

I went back and forth as well. I have it on both systems actually. The selling point for me was playing for hours wont drain my phone battery. (I am battery OCD).

I got it for free from the Epic deal and have played a few rounds. There are some minor things that makes PC more user friendly...especially if you are new...like tool tips work differently. But couch play is certainly easier with a Switch.

I understand the basics of what this game is (played a much older version many years ago). But is this newer version child appropriate?

The game runs the Switch hard, but an incredible port. Time between turns is slower but it isn't a big deal really. Having both touch screen and control is a bonus. Plus playing easily the couch on a large tv is a nice option if others are around.

For ten bucks I highly recommend, then watch for a sale if you want any DLC.

Leader and map animations are much more basic and the Switch really has problems handling large maps by around turn 250. A 5 minute wait between turns and the game crashing at least once every 90 minutes in the late game is the norm, not the exception. The expansion packs and frontier pass actually make this worse. The menus also have a problem with the scrolling glitching out in the late game, making it a random guess which item you are selecting when you press x.

Game plays fine otherwise once you get accustomed to flipping through the menus with the trigger buttons and d pad. But the amount of freezing and other gamebreaking glitches is becoming unnacceptable 3 years after launch.

Great deal at $20, even better at $10. Definitely worth it. Overall, not as good as PC and is actually quite taxing on the Switch hardware (once you get to late game), but still fun.

I'm generally a console gamer, but Civilization games are nowhere near as good on consoles as they are on PC. They're just not built for a controller.

I really dislike the Switch version, the PC version is superior, don't waste your money. The controls aren't as easy to navigate and the gameplay is a little wonky.
